Is this not an awful thing to put a victim of abuse through?

This article says that this poor young woman went to the police and said her father had sexually abused her from the age of 13.

Surely she shouldn’t be charged with anything.

How is she the perpetrator of this crime?

Absolutely disgusting that she is being charged because she is a victim of abuse?! Is it America?

Yes - and even the reporting of it is awful.

It says the mother suspected ‘sexual activity.’

That isn’t sexual activity…it’s child abuse and rape.

The USA - 2025.

Does nobody involved in that case understand grooming and abuse? How can they say he started abusing her at 13 but that she also 'sometimes' consented?

It’s truly disturbing.

What a message to send to survivors of abuse about what the outcome will be for them if they’re brave enough to speak out.

I feel like the reporting of it is actually really ignorant and dangerous.

What effect does an article like that have on young girls in this country who might be in a similar situation and read that.

That they’re to blame too?

Do they not have position of power laws over there?

Like when a teacher with over age os consent pupil or prison guard with prisoner etc...
Age is not the only factor in abuse. Just because at some point she reached the age of consent doesn't mean shes not been groomed and coerced for years and become dependant on the abuser

Absolutely insane

A reminder that, wherever you are in the world, the poor face terrible injustices

My heart goes out to the girl and I hope that she gets her baby boy away from the lot of them and has a normal future 🥺.

The nonce dad, and the FUCKING SHIT EXCUSE FOR A MOTHER can fucking rot.
