To ask how much money you would need saved to spend 4 weeks in Australia?

I’ve always been drawn to the idea of going to Australia. I’m in a job with decent annual leave now so thinking it could be an option in 2027.

but how much money would I actually need saved to do it? At least one week (if not two) of accommodation would be covered because my cousin lives out there and is desperate for me to go and visit. But what’s an actual decent level that would allow me to enjoy it?

You’re going to want to do a lot because it’s such a long way to get there and discovered that you don’t have the money for that one activity that you fancy?
The cost of living is high, Food is expensive eating out is expensive for me. I would want at least 10 grand.
You could probably do it on six but perhaps six in cash and another four on cards in case

Just you? I’d say around £2500 + the added accommodation.

Would you do shared dorms or want a hotel room? Where do you want to see?

Yeah I’m thinking 6-10. Like I say a week or two in Melbourne would be free accommodation from my cousin (she has said that if I wanted to go she would do this, I’m not just presuming!) and accommodation in Sydney looks to be £1500-£2000 minimum

Definitely Airbnb or hotel not hostel 😂 I’d definitely want to do the f1, because my cousin lives very close. But aside from that I’m really in the initial stages of planning

Would you hire a car?
are you going to do any locations other than Melbourne and Sydney?
Do you eat out or just eat two minute noodles?
So many variables?

No car hire, all public transport. I would do a mix (that’s what I tend to do now!)
