No I don't but there's already hundreds and hundreds on Vinted with 'unwanted Christmas gift' in the title!

HappyFace2025 · 26/12/2025 08:45

I wouldn't feel bad as at least they'd be going to someone who wants them. I've decided that after this years crop of tat (that others may like, I understand!) I'm asking for no Xmas gifts in future, and will save substantials sums that I can ill afford, from buying adult kids in their 40s any longer.

minthybobs · 26/12/2025 08:46

Sure, I may well do.

Not sure why I should feel bad about it though - am I supposed to? money would be far more useful to me

We only have 1 unwanted item - a monster truck lego set, ds hates lego. We'll keep it in the gift drawer until someone who likes lego/monster trucks has a party :)

EchoedSilence · 26/12/2025 08:48

No, because I didn't get any unwanted gifts.

Same. I only exchange gifts with a handful of people, and we all buy each other things we know they want or would enjoy.

HazelMember · 26/12/2025 08:56

Yes I put them on for sale usually the same day. Usually 95% of what I receive. Mostly everything sells.

Daisymay8 · 26/12/2025 08:59

Well putting unwanted Xmas gift syuggests it’s a recent purchase and as new when in fact it could have been hanging around for months/ years.

That's the best kind of gift. I gave both adult DDs the names of two books I would love to receive, and got neither. Bath bombs anyone? The going price on Vinted is around £2-3.
I bought DD2 a Private Eye subscription she asked for and DD1 a Uber voucher for £50 for a meal that she wanted. I can ill afford these gifts.
