It's just past 5pm and the last guests left 15 mins ago. The kitchen is tidy (dishwashers are beyond fabulous) and I'm posting with a glass of champagne by my side. DH is literally purring on the sofa with a smile

Merry Christmas to all

We’ve had a lovely Christmas in Sydney too. Lunch was a BBQ and pavlova cooked by DH, we went for a stroll, currently contemplating cheese. Kids had a great time and they’re a lovely age (13 and 15) where they’re easy to buy for and super appreciative of everything. Plus not up at the crack of dawn!

Just 100% a lovely relaxed day.

FatCatSkinnyRat · 25/12/2025 06:22

Ok. Congratulations on having a dishwasher. What's your AIBU?

NZ'er here, had a lovely Christmas Day with adult DD and her partner. Swam in the beach this morning and then lunch, which included a vegan 'roast' as her partner is vegan, it was lovely. Weather turned to shit now so we are currently curled up watching Netflix.

DH rarely drinks and had a few glasses today. No wonder he's purring with a beatific smile. He just looks so happy.

This choice of words made me feel 🤢 a purring husband… grim 😂 no one needs to
imagine that 😂

Merry Christmas from Hawke's Bay NZ.😁

You are a couple of hours ahead. I went for a pool swim early this morning and the weather is cooler in Sydney today than the awful high 30s we've had lately.

My plan for this evening is the same as yours - catching up with Netflix

Why? It's the best description from the sounds coming from his mouth. He's happy.

Fuck off.

We are in the South Island (Dunedin) so not overly warm relative to Australia but we are hardy folk and the sun was shinning.

Merry Christmas to all Oz and NZ Mumsnetters!
Ignore the grinches.

The same misery arseholes bring down positives threads continuously on MN.

I posted in a great mood and frankly, the pricks managed to turn it around.

Merry Christmas to OZ, NZ Mumsnetters and every one else.

Happy Christmas! Ignore the miseries. Some seem to forget that it's the season of goodwill.

😀

I'm glad the sun was shinning today for you guys The South Island is on my bucket list - I've been many times in NZ but always on the North Island (my niece lives in Auckland), and somehow or another we never travel to the SI.

I think it reminds us all in the UK of the SMP on Celebrity Big Brother.

Telling me to join my husband with a drink is beyond misogynistic.

My husband is very happy on the sofa, and I'm very happy posting on MN on my computer.
