To be so fed up I’m due on my period tomorrow!

I feel awful today. Lower back pain, cramps, pain my thighs, fatigue.
I’m due on tomorrow so will be in pain and heavy bleeding on the day itself, not to mention Boxing Day which will be worse.

I suffer badly with mine every month and seems I’ve been due on or on my period every Christmas since around 12 years old 😭

That's rubbish OP

What is your doc doing about this?

InfoSecInTheCity · 24/12/2025 08:46

mines started this morning, I have been feeling the irritation and irrational rage the last couple of days so it makes sense. Ah well nothing to be done but try to keep calm

AnneLovesGilbert · 24/12/2025 08:47

I’m due tomorrow but it’s coming today. Sorry you suffer so much with yours. Mine are very very heavy for the first two days but not much pain thankfully.

LadyKenya · 24/12/2025 08:51

Mine is unfortunately due Today, or Tomorrow as well. I have had enough of them, to be perfectly honest. I have had them for too many years, and am sick to the back teeth of them.😩

Whitemochaonice · 24/12/2025 09:10

I do have an appointment to see a gynaecologist soon, but I’m not sure what they’ll say. I’m worried I’ll be fobbed off.
This shit steals more than half my life every month. I have PMDD and I’m pretty sure I’ve got endo too , although undiagnosed. The lower back pain is horrific. And the cramping makes me feel sick.

Mine just started, I'm so over this shit every month. It's been 35 years already and the first 3 to 4 days are so heavy and draining. I always get a migraine at some point as well. Happy Christmas 🎄 to us.

Idontjetwashthefucker · 24/12/2025 11:28

52 years old and my periods are worse than ever, heavier and last longer...I've taken some Norethisterone to delay it, for Christmas at least

ResusciAnnie · 24/12/2025 11:30

That’s very very rubbish! Sorry OP! I’ve come on today too but for me it’s always a MASSIVE relief - PMDD means I’m fucking miserable the week or 2 beforehand, and the progesterone sends my hyper mobility haywire! So clumsy!

Amiunemployable · 24/12/2025 11:31

I've just come on, literally two seconds ago!

Merry Christmas to us all, eh?

ChristmasElvie · 24/12/2025 11:40

Me too, started today in a wonderful flood of my clothes first thing, two days late, my breasts are fit to burst and it’s no coincidence there has been snapping between me and DH as my head has been banging and I’ve been feeling unbelievably tense through my whole body. Cruel is what it is. I think people who don’t suffer think we use it as an excuse but I’d like to see some of them live with this ten days out of every month plus the actual period. Ridiculous in this day and age that we have to go through it.

Whitemochaonice · 24/12/2025 14:12

@ChristmasElvie
I’m the same, 10 days of awful build up and then the horrendous period itself! I get about a week of ‘normality’ if I’m lucky.

Got mine this morning. It has totally ruined my mood and I'm struggling to snap out of it. Tomorrow will be worse, two nighttime pads, period pants and sitting on a towel. At least we don't have guests tomorrow or have to visit anyone.

CryMeARiverSong · 24/12/2025 14:27

Oh same, started today. I have madly heavy ones that leave me anaemic unless I take a mega dose of iron every day so I sympathise with you all. I’m very lucky they’re exhausting rather than painful but it’s a right pain.

In case anyone in a similar situation is reading I cannot recommend a mooncup enough for the practical side, and anecdotally, it helps loads with cramps too. Before I’d have to get up four times a night to change tampons but with a moon cup and period pants I can actually sleep through.

Hi I know this won’t be suitable for everyone but wanted to share that I had awful heavy periods for years which were every 3 weeks - I was recommended getting a coil and was really resistant as I was worried about getting it put in having read lots of horror stories online but in the end did it and luckily had a very good local GP do it and it was fine - no more periods - I massively regret not doing it sooner.
