To despise the bloody foxes!

I'm at my wits end with the foxes - I hate them so much! The squealing all night waking me up, shitting and pissing in my garden (it stinks!), raiding everyone's compost bins and leaving old food all over the pavements

How can I get rid of them??

Fences? How are they getting in. We’ve had them and that’s what we did. My Lab used to roll in the poop 😩

Do you not have locking compost bins? Their poo is awful.
I've heard lion poo is a good deterrent. It's available believe it or not.
The screaming is transient, mating season.

We've had them here several nights recently, it feels like an odd time of year for them to be so vocal. I'm in London so they wander down my road, it's like having very loud drunk people yelling in the street at 3 am.

Lock your bins properly, fix your fences and buy earplugs

PleaseFoxOff · 24/12/2025 06:22

They happily jump over our 7 ft fence, and we keep our compost bin secure but plenty of neighbours don't, and anyway the foxes seem to have figured out how to get into them anyway and I'll often find a ripped up bio bag from a neighbour's left in our garden by the foxes.

I will try lion poo - I've tried so many things but nothing seems to work (for long) - those high-pitched sensors, getting the kids to piss all around the garden, shouting at them or firing a water pistol at them. Sometimes I just wish I had a BB gun to hand! (jk)

I agree OP. Same problem here, jumping over our high fences. Alarms facing all directions. They still manage to get in and jump onto our cars leaving scratches and poo on the bonnet and car roof 🤬

HarryVanderspeigle · 24/12/2025 09:32

I'm not sure that anything deters them. I have seen them jump up and walk along 6ft fence with ease. I think you proof what you can and then just put up with them. Blame past residents of the country for killing off the apex predators that kept them in check. Also, be thankful that we don't need to negotiate bears or lynx while putting the bins out.

I love to hear them.
