To think this man in the pharmacy today was a bit ridiculous...

In today to pick up repeat medication, 2 days before Christmas so incredibly busy. I had already waited 30 minutes, Absolutely no problem. It's Christmas, Everywhere is crazy.

A man comes running in, Pushes past me and says I need to see someone NOW. I was a bit taken back but assumed it must be some kind of emergency so of course.

He proceeds to tell the pharmacist very loudly, and perfectly clear that he's here visiting for Christmas and he 'forgot' that he's deathly allergic to dogs 😬 Stay with me....
He then proceeds to start making a very strange screeching noise, Drops to the floor and says again very clearly, I just can't breathe, my throat is literally closed up.
Pharmacist asks if he has an Epi Pen for this life threatening allergy - No
Asks if he carries an inhaler - No
Asks if he has taken antihistamines - He says no, But actually could I get some?

Then the man that apparently cannot breathe, at all. Takes a telephone call and agrees to meet his mate at the pub in 5 minutes.

Then COMPLAINED when I got my medication before him, and that it had taken a ridiculous amount of time.
Even though he had pushed in front of me in his apparent life threatening situation, and had been seen and sorted relatively quickly once the pharmacist established that he was not actually struggling to breathe...

I ended up in there for an hour and left thinking did I really just witness that?

How odd! I once went into a pharmacy to see if they had anything for a reaction I'd had, only my whole face had completely swollen and I was getting hives/prickly heat rash on back etc and looked like a horror movie star! The pharmacy called and ambulance to get me checked over. So it annoys me when people claim to have allergies when they don't.

As someone who works with the general public it sounds like a normal day to me.

I had a similar reaction to hair dye once and it was terrifying!
I can't imagine going in and saying that he literally couldn't breathe and then interrupting the pharmacist to confirm his drinking plans with his friend 😂

Sounds like our local pharmacy, a woman ran in screaming once that if they didn't give her something for her athlete's foot immediately she was going to stick her foot in a bucket of bleach. Some folk are always dying of things other people just get on with.
(And I do take allergies seriously, my DD is allergic to cats and has an inhaler/avoids them as much as possible)
