Is Bath going to be horrendously busy this Saturday? Apparently there's A Wedding.

Is it going to be full of paparazzi and fans 🙄 and security and oh gosh knows what.

We're heading down for the Match and hoping that the 2 events don't collide. Kick off is at 5.30, no idea what time the wedding is? It might all be over if it's a lunchtime wedding 🤞🏻

The city is always busty on a match day, but that's a really great atmosphere.

Not that important a wedding that would draw lots of people though. Bath is very busy every Saturday.

EverardDeTroyes · 23/12/2025 11:04

Who is getting married?

SaintsinaBath · 23/12/2025 11:04

It's been getting a lot of press coverage.

Nice click bait. Mentioning fans and paparazzi but failing to mention who is getting married

SaintsinaBath · 23/12/2025 11:05

Adam Peaty the Olympian.

Ah thanks, yes, I had read about it. It depends what time you want to get there, but surely the wedding will be well before the 5.30 kick off?

Adam Peaty the Olympian.

Fabulous achievements but I can’t imagine he’ll be drawing thousands!

SaintsinaBath · 23/12/2025 11:09

Yes I think it'll probably be lunchtime ish to maximise venture time, daylight photos etc 🤞🏻

Love a busty match day 🤭

I agree with you but thinking about it Gordon Ramsey is the Father of the Bride and Beckhams are going to be there (not Adam’s poor mum though!)

Hellohihola · 23/12/2025 11:50

It wasn’t as busy as I thought it was going to be yesterday, but it is horrendous on a match day generally without adding Xmas into the mix. You will struggle with parking so I suggest getting a train if you can

Just wondering if anyone knows the timings if this please?

No time given for the wedding that I can see but they have booked the Abbey for the whole day not just the 90 mins of the service and locals are up in arms as everyone is banned from going in there on the day of the wedding except guests.

samlovesdilys · 24/12/2025 14:03

Bath vs Northampton kicks off 1730 so many will be making their way to the Rec late afternoon. Then busy again later in evening.

NigelForage · 24/12/2025 14:04

Oh God, we're going to the match and haven't even found Parking yet

Agreed. Ludicrous to think a former Olympian would shut down a town. Proportion is the key word here.

PangolinPan · 24/12/2025 14:12

Why are they getting married in Bath?
You can park elsewhere then train it into Bath (like Keynsham/Bristol)

I've never heard of him. Is he really that famous people will be hanging out to catch a glimpse?

Edited

I didn't think you could ban people from wedding ceremonies? Maybe I am out of date though.

NigelForage · 24/12/2025 14:18

Yes, I'm sure weddings have to be accessible to the public because civil aspect

There are different rules for the rich and famous. It’s not like anyone could wander into Westminster Abbey during the royal wedding. Gordon Ramsey has presumably paid a huge sum for private use of the abbey for the whole day - and I can’t blame them for accepting when that will help cover their costs for at least a few years.

Manchestermummax3 · 24/12/2025 14:35

Wedding is 'apparently' 1.30pm.
They've booked the Abbey for the day because of security, likely due to the Ramseys & Beckhams.
