Underfloor heating

I am crafting this as an AIBU to get a good range of views.

I wanted high-quality engineered wood floor and with a crawl space underneath, I decided not to install wet underfloor heating. AIBU to regret not doing so even if it might not have been suitable? I can't help regretting even if a part of me thinks it would have been impractical.

The crawl space is like a cellar space but enough to crawl/stoop underneath the entire house.

Is this a suspended floor in a period property?

Could you afford the additional cost? We were quoted £20-30k for underfloor heating throughout

Yes a suspended floor but with a cellar-type void underneath.

The living room is carpeted but the extension, which contains the kitchen, the utility room and a sitting area, is engineered wood.

That sounds a lot.
