Have people finally had enough of shops and greedy prices

I can't speak for other areas, but while I was out shopping this morning, I was surprised at how much was still available on the shelves. Morrisons had plenty of gift sets, candles, home accessories, Christmas chocolates, toys, etc. It was the same in Sainsbury's, B&M and Tesco. There were also a lot of items on sale, so they're obviously eager to shift it all. I typically do my shopping at the last minute because of work, and usually, most items are sold out, but this year seems different. Have people reached their limit?

M&S is so weird for this. I think there must be certain items that are only available with long enough dates (maybe pate/some seafood?) if you buy on the 22nd, 23rd or 24th as it's always absolutely fine in the days before that. I was in Tesco last night about 8pm buying pic n mix for the cinema and that was just steadily busy. No queues.

I had to queue to get into the supermarket today. When I got it, there were less people there than usual.I just needed a few things. The tills were all free when I reached them. There was no need at all for the queuing system outside the shop. Utterly bizarre.

The rest of the shopping centre was quiet too. There were lots of people around but there wasn't one queue at any till.
