It’s got to the stage of Christmas already where I cannot face going to any more shops. Shampoo had run out. Dog “fox poo” shampoo on side of bath. Most logical choice at this stage of the year?!

DS did this once. Came downstairs and announced “there wasn’t any human shampoo in the bathroom today”. His fur looked extra lustrous. There was plenty of shampoo but he hadn’t thought to get a new bottle from the cupboard before jumping in the shower!

Realise it’s not what you used OP but the brand Bugalugs is tested on humans and smell amazing! Often wondered myself as my dog’s black fur is mirror shiny!!

I used our cats buggalugs once in a pinch and was very impressed (I know cats shouldn't need shampooing but he's very fluffy and occasionally sh*ts his little pantaloons, so it's a necessary evil).

Not a problem until DH hugs you and says “oh, your hair smells wonderful darling”

OP, if you do not come back and tell us how it turned out, I shall hunt you down and pretend to throw a ball for you.

To answer the question, I'd totally do it as a one off because I understand being Christmas exhausted and dreading the shops. Hard relate on that one
However, it's only 21st December, you've got a good few days until Christmas shopping madness is over, are you planning on going with out shampoo until boxing day or beyond? Or do you have an Amazon next day delivery planned?

I once used a dog wipe when I ran out of toilet paper. We keep them for wiping muddy paws. The packet said "not for use on birds" so I thought that would be fine. Felt very clean.

I have done that. Also used a dog 'cologne' which was given to the dog by an admirer. I got more compliments when I was wearing the dog cologne than I did wearing my favourite Jo Malone.

I wouldn’t wash my dog with dog shampoo, there’s absolutely no way I’d wash myself with it. It’s harsh as fuck.

Dog shampoo is very similar to baby shampoo, it has to be so you can wash their faces with it and not worry about it getting in their eyes, plus dogs have quite sensitive skin and it needs to be gentle on their coat. The only issue I can see is it might smell a bit odd compared to human shampoo.

My Mum once left the dog shampoo on the side of the bath. My Dad went in the shower and came down complaining that the shampoo smelled weird like antiseptic. She asked which shampoo he'd used and when he said the red one, she realised he'd washed his hair with anti-flea shampoo 😂

We kept telling him he wasn't allowed on the sofa anymore 😂

Shampoo isn’t something I’d ever really run out of (teenage girls at home!) but if worse came to worst, I’d rather have dirty hair for a day or two.
