With it being the last Friday before Christmas, is anyone else feeling a bit disheartened about not landing a new job this year?

I know there’s still time and that hiring often picks up in the new year, but I can’t help feeling a bit flat realising that this year is ending without the job change I’d hoped for.
Just wondering if anyone else is feeling the same or if it’s just the end-of-year wobble talking.

AIBU to feel a bit sad about it?

To be honest, I had such a horrific year that my job was the only stable thing in it. I'll be holding onto it for dear life!
But I think I know how you feel because I was buying this damn house for the entire year and I still haven't got the keys. The best thing to do is to sit down, light a candle, pour a glass of wine and make a plan for the next three things you need to do in January to get you closer to your goal.

YANBU for feeling like this.

For me I'm just pleased to get to the end of the year and still be in my job. How long it will last I have no idea, but that's a 2026 problem!

I’m sorry to hear that you are having trouble. That must be very stressful. I sincerely hope that things pick up for you in 2026.
