Mumsnetters had clocked his true colours years and years ago!
The worry is how these people again and again get to the top of the greasy celebrity pole, hob knob with the great and good, get lucrative publishing deals, present awards, and receive awards such as an OBE.
The older I get I can only think it’s because these types of men are somehow protected, encouraged and promoted by other men who secretly enjoy cruel, sleazy, exploitative behaviour.
And once more with these people, charity events become a cloak of respectability.
Talk about hiding in plain sight:
just read DW’s Wikipedia page which describes how DW humiliated young men before an audience during a stage tour;
“Walliams portrayed a fictional, gay, former children's entertainer and sex offender named Des Kaye who invites volunteers from the audience or celebrity guests to play the game. Recordings of the sketch include footage where Walliams attempts to kiss participants, manhandles them, pulls their trousers and underwear down, and simulates anal sex. Volunteers are seen "grappling to keep their genitals covered. The sketch was criticised by gay rights campaigners and attracted criticism and concern from members of the public.”
Put that together with the Presidents Club charity gala debacle and his departure from the ´Has Talent’ franchise because of inappropriate comments.
And many other alleged incidents.
Again … why oh why does it take so long until these people are discredited… and after the damage is done?
Now these allegations have become public,
I hope many more people find the courage to speak up.
And to think, he was somehow deemed a suitable person to write for children? Just how?
