Charged for hate speech, good, at last. This type of hatred needs dealing with.

Anyone calling to put people 'in the ground' needs jailing and treatment too, to help with sickness causing this hatred.

It's not an AIBU its to celebrate that finally the powers that be are beginning to take action on this.

"A University of Oxford student accused of chanting for Gaza to "put the Zios in the ground" at a pro-Palestinian march has been charged with stirring up racial hatred."

At long last.

About time but i do think they should have done it earlier.

SoulSearchBeHonest · 18/12/2025 17:00

He should be treated in the same way as others have for spreading hatred or incitement. Prison.

Thank god. What a cunt.

SoulSearchBeHonest · 18/12/2025 17:03

This is what some pretend 'doesn't happen on protests and marches'. It does, there are hateful people stirring up hatred towards others. It's wrong.

The left having their own hate speech bullshit turned back on them. Brilliant.

Be interesting to see if he sent to prison. How the heck does someone think that’s an acceptable thing to say!

Same here. Guess the deaths at Bondi have finally made the Met focus on the rabble rousing antisemites including Your Party's Zara Sultana (a fruit and nut case of ever there was one) demonstrating outside remand prisons where hunger strikers reside.

I'm 100% fine with this. It also needs to be rolled out to people saying similar things about other groups though. Justice needs to be for all.

The woman that made comments about asylum seekers in hotels, went to prison. She used hate speech and suggested violence. He's doing similar.

And rightly so, @SoulSearchBeHonest, though it was interesting to see some who cheered the decision being the very same ones who insist these hate chants are merely free speech

Personally I'll start being pleased about this if it lasts and more than a few token offenders are arrested/charged; it looks a little stunt-like right now, but time will tell and I hope to be wrong

Hate speech is a weird and bad thing to charge people with. Free speech is important.

Incitement ito violence s not the same and should be prosecuted. This was the latter.

I agree completely! , it should apply to everyone and anyone who doesn’t agree clearly isn’t as liberal as they think they are.

I believe it is possible to criticise without being hateful.

I’m really not comfortable with this

It has never been proven anywhere that this type of speech actually incites violence.

I therefore can’t support it because it’s just not true it incites violence.

He’s obviously horrific

Where has it been proven that people publicly calling for the death of specific individuals does not incite violence?
because I would say that lately it’s very obvious that it does.

Yes, the two men who shot up Bondi obviously came up with the idea of hating and killing Jews in a total vacuum. No one ever suggested the idea to them.
