So sick of innocent kids and humans being harmed and killed in the name of religion-whichever religion. So much evil around, how could any god want that?
Aibu that the majority of people aren’t that religious and just basically want to live their lives, look after our kids etc etc

Just leave us all alone, life is hard enough as it is
and in terms of religion, god etc, just be a good person ffs

Can I introduce you to the Humanists?

Slogan: think for yourself, act for everyone.

https://humanists.uk/
Bringing non-religious people together to develop their own views and an understanding of the world around them
Humanists are people who shape their own lives in the here and now, because we believe it's the only life we have. We make sense of the world through logic, reason, and evidence, and always seek to treat those around us with warmth, understanding, and respect.

Humanists UK

We advance free thinking and promote humanism to create a tolerant society where rational thinking and kindness prevail.

Completely agree, all religions are made up bollocks.

However people will always find a reason to hate those who are different from them, so even if religion disappeared over night, there would still be awful things happening, sadly.

If it wasn't religion, people would quickly find something else to divide and kill people over.

OttersMayHaveShifted · 16/12/2025 13:57

I'm a staunch atheist and am certainly no fan of religion, but surely the problem is people. Bad people (or damaged people) will find reasons and justifications to do bad things. If religion didn't exist, they wouldn't magically become good people.

It's not the religion that is guiding these folk to do these things. It is a localised, cultural interpretation of it, coupled with a fanaticism that leads to such actions. YABU @Santaareyououtthere .
