TW : Murder To think mocking Rob Reiner's brutal murder by his son is a new low for Trump?

I'm fed up with instances of murder being mocked or even celebrated in US across the board.

There is something really wrong with political culture in US especially for this to happen, but it's present worldwide re polarisation to some extent, at least.
But Trump is President. The President vilely mocking the murder of a man by his own son as due to 'Trump Derangement Syndrome' (because Rob Reiner was a vocal Trump critic) is yet another symptom of the terrible slide of US political leadership to moral rock bottom.

I dont think its a new low

I was just about to say the same thing. This is just aligns with his previous behaviour.

He talks about “derangement” with a total lack of insight into how deranged he himself is!

Yeah America is in a very sad situation right now, every day their president shames them.

I used to be meh about Trump. But this is frightening. The mockery over someone’s murder and the online rambling like he’s drunk or unwell. The man is wicked.

Well he definitely has to be deranged himself to make this awful, sad murder about him. But he pretty much always makes everything about him, he seems literally unable to help bringing every subject back to either how magnificent he is and how enormous and unique his achievements are and/or how persecuted and misunderstood and underestimated he and his achievements are. It's a very interesting psychology, a sort of extreme narcissism and persecution complex. It's not remotely new though, however shocking.

Not only dispicable in itself but also to mock the (albeit unconnected) death of a jew the day after the atrocity in Sydney just shows how utterly depraved and self centered Trump truely is.

He's effectively saying his supporters can commit murder, he's a disgrace.

Really worrying that the leader of the most powerful country in the world is so preoccupied with Hollywood. His behaviour is disgusting: nothing new. But he’s so obsessed with famous people and celeb culture it’s disturbing.

Its horrible absolutely awful.

It's hard to say. It's all so low with him.

I pay attention to Trump but it still did surprise me. Reiner wasn’t a politician. He was just a typical liberal Hollywood guy who didn’t like Trump. Normally adults can put such things aside when there’s a tragedy. Not Trump. It really shows the sickness and rot in Trump’s mind.

The only ones to have TDS are Trump and his devoted followers.

Reiner was politically active (eg. He founded an org to campaign against Prop 8, which banned gay marriage in California). I read an interview

None of that justifies Trump's grotesque response. I expect an actual politician's murder would have received even worse comments, judging by his reaction to the attack on poor Paul & Nancy Pelosi which could have easily resulted in their deaths

It’s horrible. But it’s hardly out of character. Everyone knows he’s a corrupt scumbag who only thinks about himself. 75 million people thought he was the best option. Still mind blowing.

Yes...I mean I thought reposting the 'golden Gaza statue' and 'dropping poo on his opponents' videos on X were new lows (and that's just regarding discourse, rather than actions.. ) but this is another level.

 Given Trump's history of assassination attempts, you might think a violent murder would bring out empathy, but I guess that's beyond him for any supposed TDS people.

I'm really troubled that I missed the entire news story about Rob Reiner & his wife being dead and their son being on trial for their murder!

I love so many of his films; I'm in absolute shock. How could anyone make derisive comments about any death, particularly one like this? It's hideous.

It would be mentally easier to dismiss him if he didn't hold international power.
