Do you want to talk about your grandchildren

Or hear about other people's?
As an older woman (with several beloved gc) i am so fed up of people assessing me and saying ,( in a way that they think they're giving me a big treat) 'and how many gc have you got?'
Some people think that's all older women want to talk about. Plus my dh never gets asked. Instead it's 'what did you do before you retired'

No I don't.

I'm not defined by the fact that I have grandchildren.

Can't imagine a man ever being asked how many grandchildren he has. It's very patronising.

Honestly I think it’s the same for woman of childbearing age. You get asked constantly if or when you want children, how many you have. It never bothered me until I lost a twin pregnancy and then I found it a bit hard to answer.

Men never get asked, really.

I'm happy to talk about mine and listen to others talking about theirs. But only for a minute or two. Not the sole topic of conversations. That would be boring.
