I do quite a lot and have even managed to get new items that I’m going to gift at Christmas

Lots of maternity clothes
DVD player
School uniform
Football boots

I’ve given lots if stuff away too.

I have done many times over the years but I have given away much more. I use Olio and Freecycle as well as a local selling page.

Have to say that I hate seeing people who use the free sites and never give away anything themselves, just take. It’s not a one way street and I will avoid giving to anyone who does that.

I would but I don't have transport and by the time I pay to arrange any, it's probably not worth it. And I'm not into cheeky fuckery by asking family or friends i may drop hints if I thought it was worth it .

Yes lots of toys of our local free Facebook page for my dd.
I have given away most of her baby stuff on there and clothes as she outgrows them.

We have taken and given lots over the years. But there was a few years where we were starting out and only wanted things. Then a lot longer when we've only really gifted things as we're now decluttering and replacing furniture with things that properly fit/suit our home

Ygfrhj · 13/12/2025 06:48

We received a lot and I've given away a lot, mostly baby things. If something was given to me for free I won't try to sell it and I try not to give to people I suspect will immediately re-sell the items.

Including two of my DD stocking fillers this year- a dr dressing out outfit and some sylvanian families figures

My DD picked up a sewing machine. It has changed the direction of her life - from Maths to Fashion.

Yes, I’ve given and received lots of things on our local FB page. I think it’s a great idea, helps people out and keeps things out of landfill

Upsetbetty · 13/12/2025 07:18

Literally never!

Girasoli · 13/12/2025 07:20

I get a lot from charity shops, or if people are giving something away for free on their front wall, not so much Facebook because I don't drive and DH isn't always around to go get the thing up for me.

I give a lot to the charity shop, the DCs school (for tombola etc) and friends with younger DC.

GreenGiant167 · 13/12/2025 07:26

We got a load of top soil once which was really useful for a garden project. I gave away a brand new insert for a highchair recently as I couldn’t be bothered to take it back to IKEA.
