If they did, they’re probably in the wrong job! I’d think it was a completely normal thing to cry in a psych appointment.

IndigoIsMyFavouriteColour · 12/12/2025 23:26

Of course not, a trained mental health professional will not judge you for crying at all.

FoxLoxInSox · 12/12/2025 23:27

Of course not. Why do you think you’re going to see them, if there’s nothing wrong?

blankcanvas3 · 13/12/2025 00:19

I would assume nearly everyone cries to their psychiatrist at some point - I have!

LunaTheCat · 13/12/2025 00:21

I am not a psychiatrist but a GP .
it’s fine to cry .. it’s expected and you won’t be judged.

Allthesnowallthetime · 13/12/2025 00:34

No I don't think so.

But I wonder if you judge yourself when you cry?

BauhausOfEliott · 13/12/2025 00:48

Why on earth do you think a psychiatrist would mind if you cried? Of course they won’t mind. They will see patients crying multiple times every day.

TinselTitts · 13/12/2025 00:52

They'd be a bit weird if they did.

This is like asking whether a dentist would judge you or 'act funny' if you flinched when having a filling.

MarxistMags · 13/12/2025 00:55

Absolutely not. Well done you for getting medical treatment.

SizeableBadBoys · 13/12/2025 01:07

Of course not, They are professional and will have experienced it many times before. I hope it goes well for you.

XenoBitch · 13/12/2025 01:08

Of course not. They will have seen it loads of times. It is pretty much normal to cry in front of a psychiatrist.
I hope they help and you are getting the support you need.

QuirkyMoose · 13/12/2025 01:10

People cry ALL the time in psych appts.
They're used to it.
It's part of the job.
So is yelling and violence but more often than not, they won't put up with that.
Crying, don't worry about it.
Everybody cries sometime.

Gettingbysomehow · 13/12/2025 01:11

No. Every psychiatrist I've seen has put boxes of tissues out just in case you do cry.
