To be weirded out with my wedding photographer

Got married last month and got the pictures back , the photographer did a good job overall but took SO many photos of one particular guest we had. There’s a few pictures of other guests but they vary between all our guests but there’s at least 25 + of this guest by herself in different settings. She’s not posing he’s just taken them of her.

Is this a bit creepy ? Also I’m a bit hacked off because I wanted more of my family etc she was a plus one !

Sounds like the Love Actually plot- at least it wasn’t you lol

BlackSheepThisYear · 12/12/2025 21:34

Love Actually?!

ACynicalDad · 12/12/2025 21:34

Was she particularly pretty?

BlackSheepThisYear · 12/12/2025 21:34

Ha! Cross post!

Livelovelaughfuckoff · 12/12/2025 21:34

Yes that is weird. I would be asking them why they thought you would want so many pictures of just one guest. If this is at the expense of a wider range of guest pictures I’d be pretty annoyed.

Yes she is an attractive woman - although some of the photos aren’t the most attractive. She’s beautiful but not photogenic

That’s grim and reality unprofessional. Amazed he didn’t delete a lot of them, maybe he just doesn’t even realise he’s doing it.

That makes more sense maybe it was an accident

I had this at my wedding! I wonder if it’s the same photographer!
I had to delete tons of our pics before showing my bridesmaids because there was an obvious obsession with one of them

I don’t think an accident, I think quite grim, but he lacks the social skills to think to delete most of them or not be obsessed with a woman at the event, it’s a bit stalkerish.

MyAmusedPearlSquid · 12/12/2025 22:06

Yes I would be annoyed

mondaytosunday · 12/12/2025 22:15

If you are paying by the photo then I’d tell him you aren’t interested in them as you don’t even know her and why did he take so many? Put him on the spot.
Future brides: ask your photographer (or assistant if they have one) to take pics of all the guests as they arrive. Our photographer also went around to each table and got a couple photos of each as a group.

mondaytosunday · 12/12/2025 22:16

Further tip: take your side family pics before the wedding!

Mrsnothingthanks · 12/12/2025 22:52

Why would you have someone you don't know at your wedding?

Evaka · 12/12/2025 23:12

A photographer did this to one colleague at a work event. She's very pretty and he obviously fixated on her. No sense at all.

Have a hard think. OP has even given you a clue.

The OP has explained that the person was someone's "plus one".

Same here - a middle-aged photographer (near sixty, white hair, balding + pot belly) took an excessive number of photos of young female colleague in her twenties, natural blond, blue eyes and very good looking. That made me uncomfortable for her - you can imagine what he was doing later on...

KateBushAgain · 13/12/2025 14:23

I’d have to say something .

calminggreen · 13/12/2025 14:32

Maybe she was using her to test his camera settings

Mrsnothingthanks · 14/12/2025 21:52

@Bollihobs I know some people do this, but I still feel it's incredibly odd to invite someone to your wedding who you have no idea who they are.

NotAnotherScarf · 14/12/2025 22:20

It's creepy. My bil did this at my niece's wedding (not his child). And gave his wife the cd of all the pics to show her parents and us. There must have been 100 pics of the chief bridesmaid who is an attractive young woman. She was wearing a backless dress and the pics were mostly of her back which gave me the ick. I really disliked him prior to that, but he really confirmed what an unpleasant person he was.
