evri have delivered a parcel of mine to a neighbours step. I can see the parcel and the door in the picture proof of delivery. The neighbours are out.

Do you think it’s ok to go and lift the parcel off their doorstep?

I it’s a Christmas present. I don’t want it to be ruined in the rain .

Of course! I’ve done this several times.

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 11/12/2025 14:10

Yes, it’s fine.

PowerPuffGirdle · 11/12/2025 14:10

Why the hell wouldn't you? Genuinely, I don't understand why you'd even hesitate.

ClareVoiance · 11/12/2025 14:10

Fetch it. Why AIBU? ?

didntlikeanyofthesuggestions · 11/12/2025 14:11

As long as you aren't dressed up as the Grinch I think it'll be ok.

purplecorkheart · 11/12/2025 14:12

Of course. Might be worth taking a photo though of it on the step and you collecting it.

VioletandMauve · 11/12/2025 14:12

It’s yours. Just go and get it!

DramaAlpaca · 11/12/2025 14:12

Of course! I wouldn't hesitate.

TheTowerAtMidnight · 11/12/2025 14:15

I honestly don't know how some people get through life! 😂

butterdish93 · 11/12/2025 14:16

Fetch it! It’s yours. But I’d probably put a note through their door explaining. Cos they might have a ring door bell and wonder what you’re taking.

I wonder if it's the same useless courier who delivered my parcel yesterday 🤔

He delivered it two doors away to a neighbour unbeknownst to me. Absolutely useless. Reported him on the Evri feedback. He has apparently been doing this to numerous people.

Symposium · 11/12/2025 14:18

Of course you go and get it, it belongs to you .

Randomlygeneratedname · 11/12/2025 14:18

I would but if they have a ring door bell I might press the button and record myself telling them it was mine, evri delivered it in error to them.

Ooh and don't wear an ill fitting coat or stumble about when grabbing it!

user1476613140 · 11/12/2025 14:19

And yes if you witnessed your own parcel being dumped at the wrong door then take it OP.

ClareVoiance · 11/12/2025 14:21

Wear a grey hoodie hood up, face mask, black joggers, sport socks and trainers. Crouch and look shifty and leg it.

Haha I remember that thread 🤣

They don’t have a ring doorbell but they have cameras around the eves of their house so I was nervous they would wonder what I was taking. I wrote a note and put it through their door and took a picture of it with my address showing. They had two other parcels lying there for them.

Yes, you can take it - makes sense to pop a note through their door just in case. You may also want to take a photo of your parcel on their doorstep just in case you need proof.

BMW6 · 11/12/2025 17:11

Yes, take a photo of the address on the package and take home.

Edited to add - and keep the packaging for a couple weeks

Owly11 · 11/12/2025 17:12

Why wouldn't it be?

dogcalleddave · 11/12/2025 17:15

I did this yesterday in the same circumstance.
Why can’t Evri just deliver to the right house? It’s just giving peoples stuff away.
If my neighbour had been in there’s no way he’d have admitted to having it so I wouldn’t have got it at all.
