Nope I can get to sleep but wake around this time due to peri menopause symptoms.

tartyflette · 11/12/2025 03:14

Yes, it's 3.09 am here and I'm wide awake too. Insomnia is a bitch even though I don't suffer from it all the time.
You could try asking your GP for help. Mine suggested a hot drink and a warm bath...
I wish I had some good advice but can only offer solidarity.

Omg I wonder if thats whats happening with me I never knew that. I fall asleep no problem but wak up at this time been happening for the last year

ColdAndShivery · 11/12/2025 03:19

Solidarity, fellow sufferers. I rather like the idea of one of those silent book groups and some nice squashy armchairs in my insomnia cafe. Pyjamas acceptable.

CombatBarbie · 11/12/2025 03:24

Another one here.....

Franjipanl8r · 11/12/2025 03:24

MN is my 3am perimenopause waking time saviour!

Piemam · 11/12/2025 03:30

The Happy Place Café and Tilly's dog wash is still open

I can't link it here but type this into search and you'll find you're not alone.

Sliverreindeer · 11/12/2025 03:32

I'm always awake now as well ,once I'm awake for a wee I can never get back to sleep, plus DH snores a lot and I'm usually hungry as I'm dieting

DoAWheelie · 11/12/2025 03:39

I suffered really badly in my early twenties, and my late OH only needed 3-4 hours sleep to function. Once or twice a week we'd jump in the car at 2am and drive out to a service station half an hour away that operated 24/7. We'd sit in the food court area chatting the night away and then drive back into the city at 6am looking for any open places serving a full English breakfast and eat before heading home to bed.

Lots of 2am shopping trips as well.

There probably is somewhere open if you went looking for it.

Dontsparethehorses · 11/12/2025 03:44

Joining in because despite at 13h working day yesterday in a primary school I am still wide awake and was yesterday at 3am too…

Theymademecreate · 11/12/2025 03:44

I thought I was going to get a great sleep tonight coz I got 2 hours last night and then was a crank all day. Yet here I am . It's horrible

Theymademecreate · 11/12/2025 03:45

I don't even like coffee though 😀

HomeTutor · 11/12/2025 03:50

Wide awake here too! Been awake since 2am and just spewed my guts up. Not sure if it's the sushi I had for lunch which Id left in my car overnight 😬, the MJ jab which I took this afternoon, or something else.

But I have to be up at 6am for work and thats shit. Hope some of you nod off soon!

Angelou79 · 11/12/2025 03:53

Magnesium has really helped me although I am wide awake tonight

Elleherd · 11/12/2025 03:55

Throw pain into the mix and I'm on the verge of giving up hope of sleeping, and just starting the day. Being constantly overtired is leading to being further and further behind, so plenty to try and catch up on.

Sliverreindeer · 11/12/2025 03:57

I find I always have my best sleep from 5am to when my alarm goes off .
I get very bad anxiety in the night and I think that also contributes to not sleeping

Must try that, thanks

Undercovers · 11/12/2025 04:02

I'm in the 3am club too even at weekends. It's hard going and affecting me more since the clocks changed. I envy those who can sleep properly.

itsgettingweird · 11/12/2025 04:11

I’ve been awake on and off since 11.30pm 🙄

normally it’s a sign I’m about to suffer a cluster headache but not even one of those this time.

i have to get up now anyway as ds swim trains at 5am but I would have quite liked a decent sleep beforehand!

bleakmidwintering · 11/12/2025 04:14

Insomnia you mean? I thought it was a new disorder I hadn’t heard off involving coffee.

LeopardPrintEverything · 11/12/2025 04:42

Awake here too, woke up at 3.15am, needed the loo and now can’t get back to sleep due to period cramps and worrying about a big meeting I have today. Need to be up at 6am, the joys 😬

MaggieBsBoat · 11/12/2025 04:44

Yup just given up trying to sleep. Up for an hour now.

MrsMillyFluff · 11/12/2025 05:18

Yes I'm wide awake too. Can't remember the last time I had a good night's sleep. Partly due to menopause and partly due to an ignorant neighbour opposite me with a ridiculously bright security light that flashes on and off like a disco with the wind (I have 2pairs of blackout curtains up but the light finds a way in) I'm plotting ways to get her back at 5:18 in the morning 😩

HorrorPudding · 11/12/2025 05:38

Yep, me too. I got to sleep at 2.30pm and woke at 5am. I sleep between 3-6 hours a night (not in one chunk) and drag my carcass through the day. I function but that is all. At 58 I’m really beginning to pay for it. It started when I had DC so it’s been 25 years now. I’ve tried everything including not trying to sleep. I think it will probably send me to an early grave.

hmmnotreallysure · 11/12/2025 06:00

Yep, been awake since 4, it's become a regular occurrence recently, a combo of peri and stress.
