Do you think women are better at guessing ages?

Recently I’ve had three men tell me I look much younger than 32. The person doing my nails (he apparently thought I was 22 - I have had it pointed out to me by dh he was probably hoping for a tip), a random chugger who knocked on my door and an uber driver. I personally do not think I look especially young. I am pretty wrinkle free as I avoid the sun (burn easily) but I think my skin is a little saggier than one would expect for my age (classic yo yo dieter even without Ozempic). These were not flirting situations.

But the other day I was buying wine at M&S when the self service machine called for help. I asked the member of staff (female) if she needed my id and she said “ haha, no” 😂. Fair enough!

IME, women - especially 45 and over, are more likely to 'guess' your age as much older than you are. (Especially if they're guessing a woman's age who is about the same age as them.) They're not going to tell other women that they look younger, even if they think they do. They will often say they look older, to be spiteful, especially if they're more attractive...

Looking early 20s when you're 32 is not front page news though @Ksenyah Loads of people do. I did, and so do my adult DC.

Men are conditioned to NEVER be honest when guessing a woman's age! Imagine the outrage if they all said your actual age, or heaven forbid, guessed older! You wouldn't be on here laughing at them

Yes, but you're assuming they are being honest! It is the polite thing, when any woman says her age for a man to say "you don't look it". It is social conditioning. It could be bloody obvious how old you are, but it is never acceptable for men to say that.

Men will always say a woman looks younger. I had to call paramedics recently for an elderly neighbour when she gave her DOB the male paramedic said I would've thought you were at least ten years younger! She's 86 and has lung cancer.
I also think women are better at spotting the effect of makeup, treatments, hair dye etc and then mentally removing them.
What a man thinks a make up free face looks like is often very different to reality.

I think everyone over the age of 30 can accurately identify the age of other people regardless of sex.
Men would only mention guessing the age of a woman when they want to flatter her for potential gain (sex, a tip, a sale etc) or to make her feel better (out of pity or because they are trying to be kind in a difficult situation).
Why you believe these 3 men I have no idea.

I'm very accurate at guessing women's ages but not as good at aging men, especially in the mid 40s-mid 50s age. I think that's the age when it really shows which men look after themselves and which don't.

Yes, women are better at telling age (and not lying about it).

Just as they are better at telling sex, than men.
