AIBU for hoping the sale falls through?

As part of our divorce agreement, we have to sell the family home that I currently live in with my young DD. We’ve received an offer that we’ve accepted, it’s around £3k less than I had hoped for. The property had been on the market for 6 months, and this is the first offer we’ve received. I was anxious that we might not get any others, so I accepted. We’ve only had about 5 viewings as well.

Another reason I accepted is that the mortgage term is coming to an end in September next year, and I was worried we might not receive any other offers before then. However, I’m starting to realise I may have made a mistake because the two properties I was interested in received better offers than mine and are now in the process of being sold.

I keep looking on Rightmove, but there aren’t any suitable properties being listed. It looks like I may have to rent if the sale goes through.

I’m secretly hoping the sale falls through on the buyer’s side, because if I do anything to delay it, my ex might take me to court for breaching the consent order.

It was on for 6 moths, you had 5 viewings and 1 offer? I would be doing whatever I could to make sure this went through.

And even if it’s not an expensive house, £3k really isn’t that much to knock off.

£3000 under true asking price sounds reasonable to me but it’s all
relative to the area and general prices in the area plus what price you are looking to buy at.
