Fb hacked 2 years ago & I can finally see hackers email add

Short version: fb got hacked 2 years ago. They changed email and number so I’ve never been able to regain access. You go around in circles trying to claim in back with meta. Anyways I’ve just logged out of my new account and my old account was available to login in (under new name etc). For first time ever when asking to login a different way the new (hacker) email has appeared. Previously it was first and last letters with stars in between.

has anyone ever got this far and know what to do next? I’ve going to try and login via a device I’ve used in the past tomorrow.

You can try but I don’t understand

How will that help though? Won't the reset password authorization get sent to the hackers email account which you don't have access to?

Weird it has suddenly shown upmin full though. I'd be signing that email up for all kinds of shit! 😁

It is worth trying. Do you still have the email you set the account up with? Haven’t had to do this so don’t know if there is a recovery email option. Or if the password notification will just go to the hacker. If nothing is active on the site they may just have used a burner email.

Have you done searches for the hacker‘s email?

No I don’t have the email I used to sent it up because that’s how they got in to my fb initially. They had that password and then got into my fb via my email account. Happened so quickly.
I changed my phone last week and because I haven’t got a device that I’ve used in the past it’s hard to prove anything. Previously I’ve sent ID etc but meta don’t do anything at all.
I’ve done a search of the email address but the sites that come up to get more information don’t look the most trust worthy.

it’s so strange the email has appeared when for 2 years it’s shown m***[email protected]
it’s frustrating because the shortcut to the profile is actually my name. I’d had the account since 2006. Whereas now it’s some Chinese persons name.

I’m really confused
Whathappened when you tried to login today
you should have tried to login to the email they took over and reset the email password but maybe it’s too late after 2 years
I don’t understand why they would take over and continue using an account they stole 2 years ago or why they stole it

Sign them up to every bit of spam email you possibly can.

my old account account appears on my fb app. When I go to login by selecting lost password the email address appears and says send code. That’s how I got the email address. The email address they took over doesn’t exist anymore because I only used it for that account. It was an old Hotmail address which aren’t very safe.

people take over accounts because they are well established accounts. So when they go to buy things are market place it’s part of a scam. They also take them over to message your contacts and use the account as evidence of a real person. They may also do it in hope they can get other information.
