To think some of these self-help “empowerment” gurus are actually just unhinged?

I came across this author, Amber Rae - a self-help figure who, in her first book, openly wrote about cheating on her partner. She’s recently released a book basically encouraging women to leave their husbands for other men under the banner of “empowerment.”

And this isn’t a one-off. There’s a growing trend of so-called self-help experts reframing questionable, destructive or just plain selfish behaviour as growth, healing or “alignment.” It’s all being rebranded as liberation. I’m all for personal development and leaving toxic relationships but AIBU to think people who openly make harmful choices and then package them as advice, should not be in the business of guiding others? There’s a difference between vulnerability and poor judgment dressed up as wisdom.
