Options for controlling insanely heavy periods peri

Can anyone advise on options that worked for them to cure very heavy peri periods that ideally are light on progesterone?

I have been sensitive to progesterone in the past (injections in 20s), mirena that had to come straight out in 30s, bad morning sickness so I’m ideally looking for other options.

Ive got to do something as have had several blood transfusions in the last few months due to insane period flooding. I just feel in the best headspace I have in years and don’t want to rock the boat.

Yes - just take progesterone based pill or treatments so you don’t bleed to death!

No - totally understand that your choices shouldn’t be between losing your mind or all the blood in your body - keep on exploring options.

My gosh you’re way worse than I was. It affected my mental health so yours must be taking a bashing. Had to swap bedding to darker sheets as was throwing away duvet & duvet covers pretty much each month . My body has thankfully settled down. Fingers crossed you get it sorted

Please do you have any advice. What happened? Did you get any good pill to store treatment to stop it. Am desperate here. I need some help as I had recent transfusion 4 units due to dizziness breathlessness and palpitations fell over 3 times but might have been collapses. I had a haemoglobin of 40 when it should be at least 120 had to go to a and e. I have had heavy periods since I was 14 . Many trips to GP only to be told nothings wrong might be period anxiety hormones or just the way my body is. Never had my own child told to take ibuprofen before am due on. I had hyesteroscopy and told I have thick et. Was offered provera? I need to do something as lately periods are flooding. Big Maxi pad soaked in 30 mins. Sit on loo and it pours. Terrible pain causing me to white out and shake ibuprofen doesn't touch. Towels on bed and period knickers just incase. and bath towel wrapped round me at night. Don't know what to do. I work with mostly men and toilets are unisex so when I have to change every 30mins it can be awkward. Stood uThinking of private funding a hysterectomy?? I don't want another transfusion. Am dreading next period. Hysteroscopy removed several polyps and not had a period since ?? I get all the feelings but nothing happening. Might be early peri?

I’m so sorry, I’ve had heavy periods I’ve sat on the loo where the blood has seemed to pulse out of me. I had palpitations at the same time and crawled back to bed and woke up 30 minutes later flooded again. I think I must have passed out. I have private healthcare so got checked. I have fibroids which cause excessive bleeding so they put me on Tranexamic acid which reduced the bleeding and if it didn’t calm down they would put me on the mirena coil. I now have a mix match of periods. I can be on for 7 days and heavy from start to finish and it stops on the 7th day like a switch. Can see large clot to an hour later nothing. Or have a normal flow period for 4 days. Or the worst one. Be light for 4 days then see a 3 days heavy flow that gets lighter for the next 3 days. You need to push the drs because I haven’t suffered as bad as you .

Thank you. Sorry to hear that you've had all this going on as well.
I had the biopsy done but still haven't heard and I have a 8.2cm ovary cyst which they are going to monitor. I wasn't happy as they are meant to do something with cysts over 5cm. So I rang the gynae secretary who said it will be in your treatment plan but I said no they are just going to monitor them and I've heard nothing. I'm so dreading this next monthly as I'll be anaemic again in no time. Its scary when it just pours when on the loo. I will have to tell the Dr's just how debilitating they are. Thanks
