Chloe Brook Fox

Brooke Woods
Elle Woods
Rachel Elle
Elle Mcguire

Sorry if random and MN HR please delete if not allowed on this particular forum

I like the last name Brook but for some reason the character description makes me think of names ending in -a, like Cara or Laura. Best of luck with publication and well done!

GarlicRound · 08/12/2025 23:45

DallazMajor · 08/12/2025 23:27

Elle Mcguire. The others sound try hard.

And me.

Sleepeazie · 08/12/2025 23:45

I’d use Lauren and not loren?

Secretsantaofficefairy · 08/12/2025 23:50

Loren fox is nice but makes me think of Laurence fox
i would go with danni brook

OuijaBoard · 08/12/2025 23:51

Yep, would be helpful to know (roughly) the age and nationality/nationalities of the character. If she's supposed to be British, a lot of these don't really work, but could be tweaked a little as:

Ella/Ellie Fox
Danielle/Daniela (Dani) Brooke
Chloe Brook(e) Fox - fine as is
Lauren Fox
Brooke Woods (fine as is)
Rachel Ellis - or maybe something like Rachel Ellsworth, Rachel Ellesmere?
Ella/Ellie McGuire

AiryFairyLights · 08/12/2025 23:51

I like Elle McGuire but I think Ellen McGuire is better 👍
wishing you the absolute best with it whatever you decide xx

Dontlletmedownbruce · 08/12/2025 23:54

They are all really sexy names. The character is petite and beautiful, I think it would be more believable to have an ordinary name, something common and relatable. If you are going with the list I like Brooke or any of the McGuire names.

PrincessOfPreschool · 08/12/2025 23:54

I think Lauren is better than Loren. Lauren Brook Woods is a great name for a late 20s/ early 30s character.

MarxistMags · 08/12/2025 23:56

Danni Brooke.

FairlyOddmother · 08/12/2025 23:56

Lorelei Brooke?

ArcticBear · 08/12/2025 23:57

I liked Loren Fox, but the PP’s comment about Laurence Fox has totally put me off. So I’m changing to Elle Fox.

Isadora2007 · 08/12/2025 23:58

I’m puzzling over how someone can be both feisty and shy… and agree Ellen/Ella would be better than Elle… Ellen Fox or McGuire.

InterestedDad37 · 08/12/2025 23:59

How about L. Maguire, where L stands for Loren 🤔

Supersimkin7 · 09/12/2025 00:01

Ella Fox

the rest sound a bit TW

HighburyHope · 09/12/2025 00:02

Elle McGuire or I’d tweak to Brooke McGuire. But is she British, Irish, American, Australian…? Like PP I think it makes a difference to what is going to ring true.

HighburyHope · 09/12/2025 00:04

If in the UK I think Ella works better than Elle. I know plenty of 20-somethings called Ella.

Londoner4 · 09/12/2025 00:07

Not on your list but same vibe as Elle and Danii I think…Lexi?

Lexi McGuire
Lexi Mullarkey
Lexi McKenna
Lexi McKenzie
Lexi Glennon
Lexi Guilfoyle

EconomyClassRockstar · 09/12/2025 00:09

How old is the character?

PGmicstand · 09/12/2025 00:14

I'm sorry to say this, but so many of those sound like 'character names' rather than actual people names.

Putting aside the personal characteristics - how old is she, and where does she live? What do her parents do?

If she is 23 and lives in Chelsea, from an affluent background then Trixie or Brooke sound great. If she's 35 and grew up in North London (like me - not the being 35 bit) to working class parents then she's more likely to be an Amy or a Sarah

EconomyClassRockstar · 09/12/2025 00:18

If she's mid to late 20s, Chloe totally works. It was like the number one girls name for forever. Elle didn't really blossom until after Legally Blonde (2001) but Ellie was definitely massive in the late 90s as was Olivia. I reluctantly accept so was Daniella but I don't know what happened in the water in the homes of Daniella's born from the late 90s to mid 2000s but those girls were BITCHES! 😂

Fends · 09/12/2025 00:26

Feisty but shy and too soft? Are you sure?

I really hate the Fox and Dannii and the Brooke - way too sexy and makes it sound like you’ve just stereotyped her. You can’t use Elle Woods 🤣

I’d go for something completely different, and since I can’t believe your character could possibly be at all feisty with all the other listed traits I’d pick something more unassuming and British, like Lucy or Ella or even Rose

DoAWheelie · 09/12/2025 00:27

What age was the character meant to have been born? You'll want to check popular names from that year and make sure your name fits in.

Sorry OP, I agree with others that the names are not believable/realistic names. And I also think that rather than sounding sexy, they sound sexual. All a bit page 3 too. Maybe that is what you are going for and by ex model you mean ex topless model, but even then they are a bit on the nose. Too much of a mash up between Kelly Brooke, Samantha Fox etc.

I think a good and believable character requires a good and believable name.

But in any event - well done on writing a book and having it published! What a fantastic achievement! Wishing you all the best.

maudelovesharold · 09/12/2025 00:42

McGuire is a great surname, but not keen on Elle (or the spelling of Loren!)
How about
Rachel McGuire or
Lauren McGuire
