Worried About GP Call

GPCALL · 08/12/2025 22:41

I have pre cancer cells in the womb. I was fitted with an IUD two years ago and have gone for regular hydroscopies and all has been well.

Earlier this week, I had a show of blood. I was given an emergency appointment for a biopsy at the hospital which I went to.

Tonight the GP called at 7. I missed the call.

Why would they be calling at 7 at night if it is not to tell me that something is seriously wrong. AIBU to be so worried? I don't think I will sleep

I don't think so but that is something for me to cling to. thank you, thank you

I will keep my fingers crossed for you - try not to worry.

it could be something and nothing! X

Hope you get your phone call soon and it is good news OP. Sending positive thoughts your way!

Oh bless you. I hope you get positive news today 🤞🏻

I have just called and the receptionist has told me it is because they want me to have the flu jab.

I want to thank all those who took time out to be kind and to reassure me. It felt as if someone was holding my hand and wishing me well. You have all done a very kind thing and I hope something good happens to each one of you this week.

I hope if anyone comes across this thread at a future date, because they too are worried, that they will read this and know that a doctor's call even if you have had an emergency biopsy, can be routine

7pm would be an early night for a GP! My GP friend regularly starts before 7am and finishes gone 9pm. They'll have been working through their calls - don't read anything at all into the time they called.

@GPCALL , my elder son is a GP, tinybeautiful is correct. Try not to worry, it could just as easily be that your GP didn’t want you to worry unnecessarily.

Bayroot1 · 09/12/2025 10:48

So glad it's that. They could have texted like our surgery does!

Oh that's great news! I imagine it's a receptionist being asked to go through lists of people after hours to catch them in especially with the rise in flu cases. Hope you are enjoying the rest of your day now and sleep well tonight!

KnottyKnitting · 09/12/2025 15:01

And they couldn’t have left a message or sent you a text for that? Pleased it’s not what you feared but really! All that worry!

NewAgeNewMe · 09/12/2025 18:01

So relieved for you 🥰🥰
