To think that my DPD parcel isnt coming today?

It was supposed to be here between 2&3

I could see the driver a couple of streets away, and then the map disappeared and i got this message

Its now gone half 6

I called dpd an hour ago, and the woman claimed there was an issue with the van but the parcel would definitely come today, by about 8 or 9pm

Has anyone had this happen? Do dpd deliver that late?

It was supposed to come on Friday, but o2 didnt send me a confirmation pin that was apparently needed, so it was booked for today

Why me 🙃🙃

Yabu - it'll come today, ive been there
Yanbu - give up and treat yourself to one of dd's chocolate chip cookies to make me feel better

I've been hit by the Evri bug. It didn't even make it out of the warehouse. I'm thinking all sorts of unkind things at the moment. Closely followed by considering a hex on DHL.

I feel your irritation/annoyance/rage 😖

My sister works for Evri and the amount of parcels they are dealing with at the moment is the highest it has ever been in Evri history. She was out for almost 12 hours yesterday and still didn’t get through all the ones she had been given. She has a transit van and had to leave parcels in the depot and go back for them when she had delivered some and had made space to get them in. She is working 6 days a week and has been getting calls on her day off every week since the start of November asking her if she’s available to come in.

not excusing people’s parcels being delays but this is probably why

I do get it. I know it's not always the drivers fault. It's just so disheartening to watch something come so close and yet be so far away. It feels like the parcels are hostages to the will of the machine. A will it-won't it seesaw in a sea of over-reliance on cheap delivery options that just can't hope to keep up.

I'm going back to the shops next year.

I am fuming with DPD this morning. My parcel is being returned to the seller today after sitting in DPD’s warehouse all week due to “unexpected circumstances”. WTF?!

DPD attempted their first and only delivery last Sat morning. Giving me a whole 57 mins notice that they had my parcel and it was out for delivery that morning (in 57 bloody minutes!). I was out and couldn’t get back in time so booked for re-delivery on Monday when I was working from home. They confirmed for Monday and on Monday it never left their warehouse. So I booked again for re-delivery on Wed and the same thing happened. And now today they are sending it back.

Why is this so hard?!

It’s not even something I can physically buy from a shop. It’s a specific wine that’s a gift for my cousin and her husband when they host me on Christmas Eve and is only available from a couple of online sellers in the UK. I foolishly introduced my cousin’s husband to it earlier this year (when I was back visiting and he went to a huge effort to made me a lovely dinner - despite my actual cousin being away overseas) and I promised I would bring some on Christmas Eve. I live 250 miles away so don’t get back to see family as much as I would like.

Goddammit DPD. I hate you. Stamps foot and swears.

@HundredMilesAnHour I also hate dpd but I do now have a slot for today and a little sleigh animation which is more than I got yesterday so I'm marginally hopeful.

Hope you got sorted @Pascha

My seller has resent my delivery using Royal Mail (and it arrived the very next day) but are still trying to get a response from DPD re where my original parcel is as it hasn’t been returned to them. It was actually some wine so I’m assuming the DPD staff are having a piss-up in their warehouse.

I had an international parcel from the USA delivered right within the two hour slot by DHL. It left Seattle on wednesday am and was here by 2pm. Not bad going. I do find that the services for international packages are often faster and more reliable than domestic ones (despite having to clear customs).

Pascha · 21/12/2025 13:42

@HundredMilesAnHour it did! The driver came to my door holding parcels for at least 3 addresses in the village including mine, one of which was the pub across the road which he couldn't find. I managed to direct him everywhere so everyone now has their goods. He was very grateful and polite. I think he was on a new round and a bit overwhelmed. He looked just harassed and doing his best with poor support.
