what the hell have the done?!!
the new sizing has made it so difficult to shop!
their sales must be down massively!!!

Absolutely. I've bought from them for ages. Put in the filters and voilà.
Since when has a UK 20-24 been a size 14! What size is an 18?!
Ridiculous and I've told them that. If you press the size arrow it will ask you whether it's been helpful.
Vinted..sort it out.

To now hate Vinted!
ladyamy · 08/12/2025 08:30

Yup. I looked at a dress marked 16-18 and photo of the label on the dress said size 12!

BridgetRandomfuck · 08/12/2025 08:41

Yes, I've been selling and buying on Vinted for several years and since this size category change my sales have noticeably dropped. I have about 50 items up and had to go through and manually change each one according to the new categories, I'm sure I've missed some! People weren't happy with the old categories either, eg a 14 being an XL, and wanted them changed so maybe it's a case of being sorry what you wished for! But spanning two sizes per category is definitely a mistake. I don't know why they can't separate out the 8, 10, 12 etc from the S, M, L like eBay does.

Mariammaom · 08/12/2025 08:42

Is the problem that they’ve combined two sizes (8 & 10) together? I’ve only just joined Vinted and don’t know how it was previously.

I guess we now can’t search only one size (10) in isolation…?

ChiaraMontague · 08/12/2025 08:49

It’s more effort to sift through to find my size and the size filter is all but useless now, but over the last couple of weeks I’ve had some excellent bargains as a result of the things being harder for other people to find

dollyblue01 · 08/12/2025 08:55

I agree the new size thing isn’t good I’m an 8 not a 10 so size 8-10 which is it ? I have to ask and rarely get an answer , so time consuming I don’t like it anymore.
so if anyone is selling out in the description what the actual size is please 🙏

thenewaveragebear1983 · 08/12/2025 09:00

Yes it’s horrible. The beauty (and curse) for me was how easy it was to find and search for things. I’m a 10-12 so now I have to sift through 8-10 and 12-14 and there is a huge difference in those sizes. Combined with the fact that everything seems to be just so much more expensive on there recently as well, it’s barely worth it. it’s saved me a fortune though.

I don’t know why they don’t allow you to just post the size however it is written on the label. S,m,l , 10, 10-12 etc. and let buyers make the judgement. I bet they have lost so many sales.

CoffeeSparkle · 08/12/2025 09:04

Now that ebay has no fees I’m just switching back.

Procrastinatrixx · 08/12/2025 09:06

Tbh I’ve always had issues with sizing on Vinted, as a result half my maternity/breastfeeding wardrobe proved too large because the sizes were incorrect or it was unclear whether a brand was following UK sizing or another country’s - but this was before Vinteds sizing update. “Medium” has always been a gamble. So I haven’t noticed it being significantly worse than how it was.

And tbf, when buying kids clothes, it’s always a risk too. I bought 2 x Jojo Maman Bebe 3-6 month Christmas outfits from different sellers recently, one fitted perfectly, one was too small. Make it make sense.

DarkEyedSailor · 08/12/2025 09:06

I've started putting the correct size in my title and showing photos of the label so I hope it's clear for buyers!

Procrastinatrixx · 08/12/2025 09:07

That said, I have a stack to sell so maybe I’ll wait a bit longer to see if this issue is resolved before I have to deal with is as a seller.

Great idea!

GrimDamnFanjo · 08/12/2025 09:10

It’s literally quadrupled my search results making it very laborious to find items I’m interested in. Previously I could search for 14 and 16 knowing that some brands need a 16 as the sizing is on the small side. Now I am having to trawl through 12, q14, 16 and 18.
even though I use a curated brand list it’s no longe4 a quick dip in and out.

This is it essentially. While granted you always take a risk with “very good” worn clothing might not have been washed properly and shrunk, generally if you know what size you wear in various shops you can get something that fits you. Now buying trousers is near to impossible.

HappyFace2025 · 08/12/2025 09:22

My main gripe currently isn't just with Vinted and its stupid sizing policy but with buyers who make offers that I accept but which are never fulfilled. 😡 Time wasters.

Sartre · 08/12/2025 09:24

The best way is for sellers to state the actual size in the description and also in the title would help.

I agree regarding it becoming flooded with fakes recently. I hope this stops because I had to stop using marketplace for this reason.

I've been doing this consistently. I wish all sellers would give correct sizing and measurements. There are some who list their sizes as 'other' WTF??!!

MirandaWallis · 10/12/2025 15:22

I've actually given up looking on vinted now due to sizing issues. Currently a 14 and having to put size 20/22 in search engine to find anything that remotely fits. It's become a logistical nightmare. Shame. Must be losing so many buyers.

Daisywhatsyouranswer · 10/12/2025 15:29

Doesn’t bother me at all and I’m really confused why people are finding it so difficult.

so I pick my brand. Example Reiss. I filter on condition. I then say 8-10 size. It shows all, if I like something I click on the image, and look at the descriptor or label picture, nearly all have them now, if it’s the size I want, I proceed further, if not I shut it down, takes seconds.

It’s an absolute PITA because, let’s assume half of each size, 50% of the results are irrelevant. The whole point of filters is to filter out what you don’t need leaving only what’s relevant. They’ve just made it a whole lot harder, and some
sellers don’t even include photos of the labels.

CocoPlum · 10/12/2025 15:50

I complained on here about it as my defaults on there appear to be to M, rather than size 10, so my home page is full of stuff now that won't fit. One poster told me "well a medium definitely isn't a size 10", missing the point by miles 😆

I rarely search for women's clothes by a S/M/L size because that's just not practical. It's ruined vinted for me.

Mariammaom · 10/12/2025 15:51

But by clicking on 8-10 you’ll get 50% of results that are the incorrect size, assuming you’re a size 8?! Half of the results are size 10

It would be easier to be able to click on just size 8

BellRock1234 · 10/12/2025 16:08

I've not bought anything for ages.

If I search for 16-18, for a start half are the wrong size. Then a big % are actually size 12, and haven't been updated. A further % don't have the size on at all, and you need to message the seller to find out whether it is 16 or 18 (or 12). And a % of the items I might really buy are listed wrongly against size 28, so I will never find them.

It's too much hard work, for an impulse buy that has a high chance of being in shit condition anyway.

I think they just fundamentally did not understand how women buy clothes, i.e. by number, not the meaningless S/M/L that men use.

Sure, but it’s hardly a big deal, I only click on the things I like anyway. It literally takes seconds more.

well yes except when you click on things you like then discover it’s the wrong size so irrelevant if you like it or not. It’s very hard to tell from the main first photo what size something is.

If they can accept I might want to filter on dresses between mini and midi lengths, filter on a particular brand or particular colour, it’s so shit I can’t filter on size when I will never buy a size bigger than I am.
