Nowhere to store anything and OH is bitching about the mess

Recently had some DIY done and large built in wardrobe removed, OH doesn't want to buy a new one as moving soon.

However there is now nowhere to put anything, nothing fits under the bed unfortunately and the loft is damp so ruins anything we put up there.

OH wants me to just get rid of my things but I don't want to. Even if I did I don't have the mental space to process it all right now. Some of it is Christmas related, so only short term but I don't know where to put any of it tbh.

Would a hanging rail work in the short term? Can be very cheap. I have used them for similar situations to keep stuff tidy. Or a stack of clear plastic boxes? Ikea and such places do cheap ones as it's just temporary I wouldn't want to spend lots.

Next time he opens his mouth just tell him to get rid of his own stuff that is presumably in the storage you do have and you'll put yours away, or go get you some boxes as suggested above.

Impossible to say who is BU, as everyones definition of clutter and necessary stuff is different.

if someone told me to get rid of my things, they would be the first thing on the rubbish pile.

ThejoyofNC · 07/12/2025 08:38

Is the stuff piled up in a heap, or neatly stacked in boxes? That makes all the difference here.
