Royal Mail collected Evri Parcel

Hello this happen to anyone please? I had a Next return to be collected by Evri in porch but post office took it. Post office was due to collect a different parcel which they left. I drove round looking for postman but can’t find him and can’t get through to post office. Anyone help please? Label had a return address on it

Post office and royal mail are different companies- is it the postie who took it? You should call the delivery office

Post Office and Royal Mail are separate entities so there's no point ringing the post office, they won't be able to help.

As an ex postie, if I were you I'd go to your local delivery office and try and flag someone down, hopefully they'll be able to find it in their outgoings and get it back to you before the van comes to collect at the end of the day. Finish times on Saturday are around now for most DO's so even if it's closed there should be staff milling about coming in and out.

Otherwise you need to either phone the DO if you can find their number, or call Royal Mail customer service, but they're honestly dog shit so you'd be better off trying to grab a postie to help.

I had it happen to someone I bought from. The parcel eventually got to me but it went to the Royal Mail sorting office and I had to pay £7 for insufficient postage which Vinted wouldn't refund as I got the parcel. Highly annoying and took weeks but it did get to its destination.

Evri and RM share contracts...so its possible they came for the right parcel...what does the tracking say?

You need to get in touch with the Royal Mail delivery office, it’s nothing to do with the post office.

I would head over now and see if you can get them to open the door and opening hours are often limited.

The front office will be shut but you could (very, very carefully- beware of moving vehicles) go round to the yard and see if someone is nearby there to help.

OP did you take photos of the parcels? Take photos of what you are left with now and check the tracking so you can prove they haven't got what they will tell you is in their systems

I guess the issue here is that it’s being delivered to a business who gets hundreds of returns a day - I’m not sure they would happily go and pay postage.

Thanks I spoke to delivery office and they managed to speak with postman who said I’d said it was correct parcel (I didn’t) at all. It is apparently coming back to me on Monday. I have ring doorbell footage and copy of the returns label which next sent to me
