My sil keeps saying she got the best of a bad bunch! Can i get a good reply to that

without clarification of what exactly she's referring to, would something like this fit @Bell501

It's a weird thing to keep saying. Say it once maybe, twice if you have to but repeatedly? How many times are we talking about?

My former SIL used to say that my brother was perfect and that it was very sad I'd never meet anyone as wonderful. My brother was and is an absolute arse. He had an affair and she tried to kill him so it turned out he wasn't that perfect after all.

Are you the same person who just posted calling husband a coward but won’t say why?

Just say his ex partners beg to differ on that one.

Just use other confusing fruit analogies back at her, such as

• the grape doesnt fall far from the vine
• you know what they say about one bad grape
• my brother and I are like two peas in a pod, or should I say, two grapes on a vine
• well when life gives you a bunch of grapes, make a good wine

Just have a 'bunch" of these ready to go and confuse her with these cryptic fruit based
come backs...

What was the conversation before? But does she mean in relation to him and his personality etc or does your dh do cleaning/ have money etc? As in was she just botching at the time because your dh helped out or is it an out and out I’d love to have your dh?! (They’re all bad btw but obviously her wanting to shack up with your dh is worse!!)

I don’t think I would bother to rise to that with a response.

But if I did, it would be: “You say that a lot - I guess you think it’s a joke, but you can see how the rest of the family would find that offensive, surely?”
