Hi

I’ve followed Deepak for years, have a lot of literature and have used some of the self-help books when I have struggled in life.

im shocked that he is linked to Epstein ! Sooo bad and doubtful of my own judgment!!! Should I ditch the books as well

Hasn’t he always been a fraud? Ditch all of it.

LunaTheCat · 05/12/2025 10:13

I always thought he was as dodgy as f-ck!
Almost Jimmy Saville vibes .. I thought he was dodgy as when I was about 7.

TempestTost · 05/12/2025 10:39

How is he linked?

Lots of people were invited to those parties and such but had nothing dodgy involved, Epstein loved to ingratiate himself with all kinds of people. I think the more legitimate respected ones provided a kind of cover.

He also pandered to individuals, if someone wanted drugs but was prudish about sex, he gave them drugs but didn't parade the sex stuff to them.

I haven't read about DC in this context, so maybe he was deep in. But I wouldn't assume that was the case on the face of it.

I do think DC is really a rather shallow person though.

I’m sooo conflicted as have leaned on the mindfulness and natural foods healing that he has prescribed, I do appreciate it’s all from Vedic teachings anyway but was more readable

There's no reason to ditch the stuff that has helped you, OP.

DierdreDaphne · 05/12/2025 10:47

Im sure other less iffily connected sources can give you the kind of help you value, so if Chopra is giving you the ick, seek some of these others out?

DierdreDaphne · 05/12/2025 10:53

Though having read this, it the Epstein stuff hadn't icked me out, the AI ("Digital Deepack" 🤢) stuff would do that anyway 😬😬

If the methods help you don't ditch them just him - find someone else who teaches the same in a similar style.

ArtTheClownIsNotAMime · 05/12/2025 11:04

I mean he claims to be able to cure cancer and stop or reverse aging. At what point did you think he wasn't talking total bollocks?

Needacupofteaandcrackers · 05/12/2025 13:36

@ArtTheClownIsNotAMime It’s sooo difficult but now there is infact a ground swell of medical literature supporting that some cancers are indeed preventable through diet and lifestyle, supporting what these people have also been saying for centuries

No. He hasn't said eating a diet without carcinogenic food can prevent some cancers, he's said his completely made up "quantum healing" can cure existing cancers. He's very clever with weasel words but there is zero literature supporting his nonsense.

ApplebyArrows · 25/12/2025 08:24

According to Wikipedia:

Chopra claims that a person may attain "perfect health", a condition "that is free from disease, that never feels pain", and "that cannot age or die".

Possibly not top of the list of people I'd be asking for lifestyle advice.

This is exactly right. If DC has said things which you've put into practice and which have helped you, stick with them

By the very fact that he's human, he's going to have ego and be imperfect

It doesn't mean everything he's said is flawed

SumUp · 25/12/2025 09:29

I would just take what benefit you can from his work. If you already have his books and don’t buy any more, you won’t be contributing anything's further to him financially.

You can take the teachings and disconnect yourself from the person. You don’t have to disregard the things you’ve learned and gained because he’s turned out to be connected to bad things.

“AI solves the fundamental bottleneck of being human”

I think this is the saddest sentence I’ve ever read.

This is so true. As a general rule if you are searching for guidance never fall for any one human being and imagine they have all the answers and are perfect individuals.

Sneesellsseashells · 26/12/2025 08:57

I find a lot of people who think they have the answers to life’s big questions have very high propensity for significant narcissistic traits. Full time gurus are often people we should avoid not embrace.

When the Dalai Lama sucked on that young monks tongue the last semblance of belief that there are people out there with the definitive answers to the big world problems was extinguished for me.

I find it is best listening to ideas and seeing if they fit with my experiences and values and keeping them in life’s great areas.
