Dog Poo!!

I’ve noticed a significant uptick in the amount I have to currently avoid on the pavement in the last few weeks. DH (who stepped in some the other night, grim) reckons it’s because it’s raining and people can’t be bothered to stop.

Is rainy weather = more dog poo a real phenomenon or is it just nasty people where I live? 🤮

This is a bit grim, but if it's mostly the same streets and the same size of poo, it'll probably be the same person or people taking their dog out for 2-3 poos per day.

I’m a dog owner who always picks up and this makes me so mad. It’s utter laziness and disregard for anyone other than yourself.

I’m gonna start shitting in the street. Apparently it’s acceptable now.

It’s everywhere round here. If I had a quid for every time I have to say “mind the dog poo” to my kid on the school run each morning I’d be rich!

Some scumbag who lives close to me let's their dogs shit everywhere.

Then moans when my kids and the neighbours play football on a green no where near their house 🙄

It's gross. I especially hate it when it snows, and people apparently think that because the poo disappears a little into the snow they don't have to pick it up - maybe they think that it disappears when the snow does?! Then when the snow's gone there's dog shit everywhere. (I'm a dog owner who picks up, snow or rain!)

If I were PM, I’d ban dogs. All of them, no excuses.

It's definitely worse. Up until recently I was a postie and I cannot tell you the amount of dog shit I had to dodge, it's gross. So bad that some streets on my round literally just smelled like shit.

It was hands down the worst part about being a postie and is definitely much worse now than it was about a decade ago

The dog wouldn’t exist in the first place if there were no dog owners. Dogs - as we know them - are not natural anyway, they’re a frankenstein’s monster of inbreeding and genetic manipulation.

As usual, it's people who are the problem, not dogs. People who don't pick up their dog's shit are simply cunts. They don't care about anyone else. I always pick my dog's shit up.

In the dark and rain, there are fewer people on the streets/less visibility so some people are leaving dog shit if they can get away with it.

I don't allow shit in the vicinity of my house. If someone leaves shit, I go and pick it up so that it doesn't get trodden into my house by a visitor, or smeared etc. Luckily for me there is a shit bin close by. That makes it all the more shameful really though. There's a bin right there and people are still leaving shit.

When my DC were little, I threw dog shitty shoes away and bought the next size up. Couldn't risk toddlers getting it, or remnants of it, on their hands and then maybe their eyes/mouth.

Dogs are one of the most successful species on the planet (significantly more successful than their closest counterpart, wolves), and whilst they did evolve to be close to us, they would still exist without being pets... because they already do. There are multiple wild canid species and feral domestic dog populations that haven't been pet dogs for multiple generations now - there are colonies of dogs in Chernobyl that are thriving quite happily without human owners.

There would still be dogs. They just wouldn't look like pugs and cockerpoos and so on. They'd look somewhere between jack russell ish and husky/german shepherdish, prick eared, mostly brown, smooth or double coated, and legs proportionate to body size.

Dog poo is disgusting, those who leave it intentionally or through idleness/inattention should roast in the fires of hell. Particularly the person who lets their dog do a shit on the corner of our road right by the dropped kerb I have to use to cross at, and its a bright orange fucking nuclear turd of elephantine proportions that seems to survive several days (sometimes theres two or three of various vintage, all the same size and orange shade)... must be feeding absolute crap to a vast beast, and walk the poor sod the exact same route day in day out.

Where do people live with all this dog shit everywhere? I live in the middle of quite a rough council estate and rarely see shit on pavements. Sometimes in parks where some lazy entitled dog owners leave it but reading this thread makes it sounds like the 70s 80s, when there actually was dog dog shit everywhere, along with stray dogs (or ones that were just shut out all day).

Honestly, people are gross.

A poo rolled under a pile of leaves the other day and I was really stressed until I found it and retrieved it.

I can’t understand people just leaving it there.
