AIBU to ask if anyone can find the thread I'm thinking of - revenge for an affair?

The 'round robin' current thread really rang a bell with me - I'm sure in the last couple of years I've read a thread where people were posting their experiences of being on the receiving end of an affair. One person said they did something very similar - added a sentence to an email her husband was sending before it got sent out, or something along those lines.

Am I going mad or does anyone else remember it? I can't be sure but it would probably have been in the middle of another thread rather than an OP all about this itself.

Google and Chat GPT aren't producing anything I'm searching for...

@HyggeTygge Don’t think this is the one you’re thinking of, but this one is current and incredibly similar. It’s full now though so unless the op starts a new thread we will never know what happens!

It seems that the result was pretty bad for the OP - I feel so sorry for her as she was egged on by dozens of jaded women. It was extremely ballsy and completely justified, particularly as her kids were on board, but I’m assuming the piece of shit she married did not take it well

@SomewhatAnnoyedyes I fear that is the case. I've been thinking about it more than most threads. It's easy to see a snapshot of someone's life on a forum and forget that there are real consequences for a person

Yes she had serious privacy concerns but from what she’d said i don’t remember anything being identifiable. I can imagine from the way she described her ex (taking photos of OW arsehole in hotels and ridiculing her and their kids) that he would NOT have taken it well and will be threatening all kinds of stuff. Poor OP. I really feel for her.

If only we knew ahead of time what they would turn into before we commit ourselves long term and have their children. It’s so utterly depressing. Hope she can start another thread soon for support, it sounded like she needed it.

I hope those who egged her on are happy - it was clearly an awful idea and completely predictable it would end badly for OP.

For those of us who aren’t familiar, can anyone kindly summarise what the OP planned to do for revenge?

It was mean of other posters who egged on the op to do it. Easy to see it as a bit of fun anonymously on a forum.

I doubt they give a shit about the outcome tbh.

Oh thats a shame. I hope shes okay. I saw the 2nd post explaining that she had gone through with it but nothing after. Did she come back to say something bad had happened as a result.

Her husband gave her his round robin letter to print and include in Xmas cards.
She added a line to the effect of "following my affair OP will be divorcing me next year"

Oh they don’t give a toss. They just move on to the next thread with their cup of coffee to egg the next person on to implode their lives under the pretence that they care about them. They don’t care what happens afterwards and just wait for the next thread to convince people in precarious circumstances that anybody can just walk out of a marriage and be a single parent. It’s very rarely that simple and when you get posts from the few that do return after the fallout struggling and alone, the ones who encouraged them are usually nowhere to be seen.
