To not delete video of DS

Myself and DS (12) regularly like to look at ohto memories as they come up on my phone. We enjoy that ! But this morning , he got upset because i wont delete one that i filmed when he was about 9 of him singing his little heart out to Shawn Mendes . 12 year old him HATES it - obviously way uncool now. He asked that i delete it permanently. I said no because it would be permanent and one day he will like to see it and wont feel so furiously embarrassed. Its a memory and he doesnt have the emotional maturity to understand why i dont want to delete it . ( I dont mean to sound patronising but hope i am conveying That ok ) I have obviously promised it goes no further and stays on my phone . Aibu to not delete it ?

I wouldn’t delete it but I’d tell him I’d put it in a private album or something..,

Tell him you want to keep it because you love it just promise to keep it private

There are a lot of photos and videos of my children that I will never share with anyone but I like to look back on. I used to tell mine that one day you will find this funny and they now do because they learned to laugh at themselves, but that comes from maturity which your son doesn't have yet.

The only thing you can promise him is that it is private and you won't be showing it to anyone.

Personally I feel if he is really upset and embarrassed about it then you should delete it.
By not doing so you are showing him his feelings don't matter.

My ex husband is an utter UTTER cunt to his children i haven't deleted films of him with the children because one day they might want them sure today they dislike him but one day they might want to see what he was like before he turned into a cunt
