AIBU to think that this warm weather is the sign of climate change?

I remember that around this time last year it was so cold and wet — it actually felt Christmassy. I went to my DC’s school Christmas fair, but this year it feels more like spring. It just doesn’t feel right.

Pippa12 · 30/11/2025 21:23

Christ, my car was frozen inside and out this morning. Any colder I think I’d of frozen to death on my way home after a bloody night shift! Twas shit!

Octavia64 · 30/11/2025 21:24

Dunno where you are but it was three degrees this morning.

BobbyShaftoWentToSeeSilverBucklesOnHisKnee · 30/11/2025 21:24

It's bloody freezing here.

dementedpixie · 30/11/2025 21:24

Had to defrost my car this morning
It's not spring like where I live

Monvelo · 30/11/2025 21:25

I heard we had record warm nights and record cold nights this November.

IndigoIsMyFavouriteColour · 30/11/2025 21:27

It’s warm and raining here. Don’t know if that is down to climate change. I seem to remember it being warm the last few Christmas’s

Arlanymor · 30/11/2025 21:27

It is cold, wet and windy in Pembrokeshire and a severe rain weather warning is in place for midnight. It's 10 degrees, but with the weather it feels close to freezing (and my car temperature gauge agrees).

ContentedAlpaca · 30/11/2025 21:30

We had snow the week before last, torrential rain yesterday and today was bright but cold.

Kalista018 · 30/11/2025 21:30

Sorry it’s my bad. I’m in London. Pretty much all my friends and colleagues agree with me that this is unusual. And I see the forecast saying that the lowest is 8,9,10 degrees coming week.

London always feels warmer you have a locked in emissions cloud.

Was 2 degrees today in North East Scotland.

Monvelo · 30/11/2025 21:32

It was -4°C overnight and into the morning last week here where I am in Gloucestershire, very unusually cold by the river, and especially so for November!

PersephoneParlormaid · 30/11/2025 21:33

Our cars were frozen solid this morning.

Monvelo · 30/11/2025 21:34

Ps climate change could result in much colder temperatures here when the gulf stream is disrupted! I always think this would scare people into actual action more than the idea of a warming climate.

ContentedAlpaca · 30/11/2025 21:35

I was in London Tuesday from Up North. It was a little warmer than here but I can't say I would put that down to any other reason than being 5 hours further south.

mumofoneAloneandwell · 30/11/2025 21:36

Yanbu

Its WARM

SunnyViper · 30/11/2025 21:38

2 degrees here.

molifly · 30/11/2025 21:43

Freezing here. Minus temperatures most mornings

MrsPringledusts · 30/11/2025 21:47

What warm weather? Cold, wet, rainy here (N/West) we have had frosts, but thank goodness not many. Looking back at my FB posts been the same way for years

SwirlyShirly · 30/11/2025 21:51

I’m inclined to say yanbu. The seasons have definitely shifted slightly in the last 30 years or so, to v. cold winter being more jan /feb I think. I think that white christmases might become even more rare. I was wondering if we might see a harsh winter this year with it being a mast year, and had high hopes with the cold snap in November but you are right, it seems to have warmed up again a bit.

HappiestSleeping · 30/11/2025 21:59

It's not so much the temperature IMHO, it's the weeks of rain, and weeks of dry.

40 years ago, there may have been a day or two of rain, but it didn't go on the way it does now*, ditto dry.

*unless we were away in the caravan.

TidyCyan · 30/11/2025 22:00

It was 3 degrees here this morning and below zero for three days in late November. South West.

OldBeyondMyYears · 30/11/2025 22:01

It’s been bitterly cold in Lincolnshire, with night-time temperatures reaching -4 and barely above freezing during the day. Windchill has made it feel much colder this last week too!

Today has been a little warmer, reaching 5 degrees, and it’s now raining so probably won’t freeze overnight, with 2 degrees forecast.

I’d say these are normal temperatures for this time of year 🤷‍♀️

Isekaied · 30/11/2025 22:01

It's fecking freezing here

mondaytosunday · 30/11/2025 22:04

Very cold last week though, and my DD has had a bit of snow in Durham (now melted.
The average UK temp today (5.7) was 2 degrees cooler than 2023 and 24, and 3.5 degrees cooler than 2022.
