He admitted to me that he had done wrong. Ran his own business and hid money.

No, not in these circumstances. Randomly Audited then yes.

Yes as long as I didn’t have to share finances or a home with him.
Dating, yes.
Longer term partner, depends on outcome I suppose.

Same here

Innocent then, until proven guilty !

You can be guilty but wrongly found innocent.

I would not date a dishonest man

Yes or no?

Yep, remember who you do all that hard work for!

HMRC . . . I cry sometimes when I think of how special they are to me.

I'd do anything for love.... but I won't do that . . . . !😂

Ineffable23 · 30/11/2025 19:59

Presumably it's not the investigation that's the problem there, it's the fraud 😂😬

Good grief woman what is the point in not putting that info in the OP if you want answers based on the actual situation!

BeNoisyFish · 30/11/2025 20:08

Didn't you think that was a key nugget of information there? 😆 I wouldn't want anything to do with him, bad character and bad association there is usually a pattern that leaks into everything to be so thoughtfully, systematicallg and intentionally deceptive. He's basically a scammer and conman... no thank you!

Viviennemary · 30/11/2025 20:11

I might.

SalmonOnFinnCrisp · 30/11/2025 20:11

Erm... that would be a no from me.

On the basis
A. Poor general character
B. I wouldnt want that drama in my life in general.
C. If we had kids and the relationship went south you KNOW he be very comfortable totally fucking you all over and protecting "his" money.

In that case, I would absolute never get involved with a man like this.

roseymoira · 30/11/2025 20:27

Depends. Older and financially independent, yes sure. Younger and looking to start a family then no - imagine trying to claim child maintenance from him 🤣

Kleeneze · 30/11/2025 20:28

Owly11 · 30/11/2025 18:25

It depends on what he did. Is he a self employed tradesman who had a few cash in hand clients so didn't quite pay enough tax or is he a multi millionaire squirrelling away huge amounts of money through dodgy tax avoidance schemes? If he is the former and was otherwise a decent person i might date him to get to know him better. If it was the latter it would be a hard no.

Both are utter scum. They are dishonest and have no respect for the society the rest of us are trying to be create. I couldn’t ever have any respect whatsoever for anyone like this.

I was thinking about this thread and how people who intentionally benefit fraud still go on to date and have families after the conviction. Someone somewhere will date even serial killers (e.g..women writing to locked up men and marrying them in jail). I still personally wouldn't but obviously some people must do so and knowingly too.

Someone said the uber rich don't get rich by being nice and playing fair.. I can imagine some dodgey dealings somewhere along the line if you're super rich.. but then there is legal tax avoidance and illegal tax fraud of course. Anyway, no I wouldn't date him and I would avoid him after this information.
