I feel lost

Long term lurker, occasional commenter.

I’m early 40’s, 3dc (ranging from 12-7) 1dh, I’m definitely experiencing early peri symptoms, have ADHD and a lower back problem that means walking and Pilates are my only exercises.

I’ve realised this week that I’ve given up on myself a bit. I’m not a priority to myself anymore but I don’t really know what to do.

I guess I feel a bit lost.

I probably have about £50 a month I can dedicate to myself but I don’t even know what to do. And whether money at this is the answer.

I’m about a stone overweight and am struggling with the noise from the weight loss jabs, but am too scared to try them, so am not sure why they are taking up so ouch headspace.

Not really an AIBU but am looking to get some thoughts on what you do as a pick me up, to feel better about yourself etc.

Hi op sorry your feeling like this
A stone isn't too bad, can you up your walking for one? How many steps are day do you do?
If were looking at £50 as a budget then I would suggest regular facials
I have one every 4 weeks I vary it between microdermabrasion, microneedling, chemical peels and just a massaging facial. The room is lovely and calm and I can switch off for 40 minutes and be pampered.

However other things I do to ensure I feel good about myself- I read alot. I dedicate down time to getting lost in a book. And I also walk alot, I live in the countryside so I like to get my heart rate up doing hill walks regularly.

Could you join a gym that has a steamboat jacuzzi sauna set up? I find these really help for muscle pain if that's what your back issue is?

Ultimately you need to prioritise yourself as you cant fill from an empty cup.

If you’re only a stone over weight then unless you have certain additional health issues then you won’t be able to get the weight loss jabs.

What do you want to do
a) lose weight
b) enjoy life more
c) have some time yourself

I would choose one thing you want to work on first.

I get my nails done regularly I find that it helps me to feel better and more put together. Just a little thing but I enjoy it.

Thank you @TheCountessAtChristmas @Lookingforthejoy and @blue23blue I really appreciate your replies.

i think I need to re-find my mojo, I love walking and we have a dog, so whether I like it or not I’m usually out walking most days. I could up this though and try and do an hour a day.

I think I want to enjoy life more and have a balance of not feeling guilty for having time for myself.

a sauna and jacuzzi sound amazing, as does a facial! Nail wise, I get a bit panicky if I have gels but I could do my own and make more of an effort with that.

I think it’s going to be the little things adding up that make a difference.
