13 month not napping at all.

He was in a routine of a nap in the morning and a nap in the afternoon, until about two days ago when he dropped both naps and just cried to get up instead followed by being grumpy and tired when he came back down.
Usually I just lay him down and walk away and he’s gone and it seems unkind to let him cry but aibu to let him have a shout and leave him in his cot as he clearly needs the sleep?
I had tried staying and soothing him but he just stands there with his arms up screaming.
He’s also been waking up in the night again the last few nights after 7 months of sleeping through.

My son used to go through bad sleeping patterns periodically when he had a growth spurt. Does he have any books or soft toys in his cot that would distract him from being upset? If he's dropping sleeps he might just need a while up there being quiet with a calming thing to play with or look at a book. If he's really tired he'd end up dropping off.

I'd go out for a walk in the buggy at that age
