to think if somebody 'house sits' for you there is no reason whatsoever they would have to go through your bedroom drawers??

I wrote a note for my sister when I left who in turn wrote one for me on my return.

But I have just noticed that she used my pink paper that was in my underwear drawer.

If she needed paper there is plenty down stairs and I don't understand WHY she would look in there in the first place for paper or otherwise!

I would feel uncomfortable too.

OverMyDeadBody · 09/06/2008 14:15

Um....she's your sister! If it was a friend or a stranger that would be another thing, but this is what sisters do!

Count your self lucky you haven't got a sister like mine, she goes through everything if she comes over, whether it's to babysit, stay the night or just visit. She then 'borrows' stuff without asking. She routinely comes to stay and doesn't even boter bringing pyjamas, toiletaries, or clean underwear, instead helping herself to mine . Whe things go missing I just assume she has them and regularly go over to hers and root through her drawers to get back my stuff.

She's a communist at heart, that girl.

when my brother and his girlfriend house sat for me years ago i set up the spare room for them(didnt want them sleeping in my bed..cos..well cos its mine!) , i also told them not to get our pet chinchilla out as they didnt know how to handle/hold him(new) and grabbing him or frightening him can give them heartattacks!..............................

I got back to find her manky blond hair all over our pillow and one of HER tops in MY wardrobe in MY room coverd in fur from my little chinchilla..bitch..brother married her and is only now realising what a cow she is!..on the flip side, when THEY went away, they got my cousin to house sit and HE sought out some photographs of HER when she was doing a bit of 'glamour' modelling and put them on lesbian tinternet site!!...so kinda what goes around came around!..she messed with my stuff, cousin messed with hers (Although he was TOTALLY in wrrong, i wont hold it against him)

I love the way she made sure you knew she'd done it by writing you a note on the pink paper - I mean, sisters usually do things like that discreetly

lulumama · 09/06/2008 16:27

actually, i don;t think thate even sisters have the right to go through underwear drawers. and i would be miffed

there have to be some boundaries and i think it is rude and disrespectufl

fullmoonfiend · 09/06/2008 17:46

yes, it is rude and disrespectful...but when siblings/family are concerned, tis not at all surprising. Sadly, some families treat their relatives in ways they would not dream of treating a friend.

In fact, I used to leave sarky notes for my mum to find when she was ''secretly'' rifling through my knicker drawerr to see if I was on the pill...

Evenstar · 09/06/2008 18:04

It could have been worse, my mother-in-law left some people to house sit, they belonged to an organisation she was in called Friendship Force. She was away for 3 weeks when she got back they had drunk about £400 of alcohol, emptied freezer and cupboards of food and damaged carpets and an antique table. Despite instructions they had gone in her bedroom and let her cat get in with a dead squirrel which had rotted on the carpet. They had also used her car and left the tank empty.

BoyzntheShire · 09/06/2008 18:10

youre just embarrassed she saw your toys

sisters do this stuff. i expect my sister would... i probably would too!

WelliesAndPyjamas · 09/06/2008 18:28

I do think it's quite funny she used the paper from your toy drawer, to tease you.

windygalestoday · 09/06/2008 18:31

maybe she has similar notepaper ??

differentID · 09/06/2008 20:16

OMDB did we have the same sister? It was almost like running commando raids on each others drawers when we were teenagers- she'd go out, I'd try to recover the stuff she'd nicked when I was at school and vice versa

southernbelle77 · 09/06/2008 21:43

This why I'm really worried about letting anyone other than mil (who is very good and would never dream of doing such a thing!) babysit! I would have to have a serious 'tidy' up to make sure anything incriminating was well and truly hidden
