To find it easier and more enjoyable shopping for my daughter?

I’m feeling guilty and unsure if I ‘should’ be or not.

Son is five. He’s very much a typical boy in terms of interests; trucks and cars and planes, superheroes, dinosaurs. I don’t think I’ve led him especially but DH shares some of those interests, so I guess it was kind of inevitable.

DD is two and loves unicorns, dolls, her little kitchen and princesses (Elsa being the favourite )

I feel like shopping for toys for DD is just so much more enjoyable. I can find ten things I’d want to buy her for just one for ds - just seem to find it hard to be enthusiastic. I do buy them roughly the same in terms of amount and value but just find DDs stuff enjoyable I suppose … Is this normal?

I am very much a girly girl myself. But I don’t agree with you, I have three sons and have learnt to enjoy what does not come naturally to me.

Girls clothes and toys are much more interesting 😭

Complete opposite here. I can’t stand “girls toys”, and always found boys toys cooler, more interesting/stimulating.
And don’t get me started on girls clothing! Cargo shorts with multiple pockets for boys vs pink frilly short up the nappy for girls. 🤢

This. If your child has an interest you don't share, you need to take (fake!) an interest. Because if you're going to divide by stereotypical interests of the sexes, it doesn't stop at present buying and you'll end up closer to DD than DS.
