To do a 6th birthday party using the kids club cinema?

Would it be cheeky to ise the £2 kids viewing tickets to invite 5 friends to watch Polar Express, give them a small bag of popcorn and a fruit shoot... and then take them to McDonald's for a happy meal?
Would buy adults tickets for cinema if they feel they need to tag along.

Sounds perfect 💙

Sounds lovely. Make sure you have an extra adult on hand for the inevitable loo trips.

Jilly76 · 26/11/2025 21:39

Not cheeky at all!! Perfect birthday party :)

There's going to be at least me and DH. Happy to pay the additional £2 for other adults 😁

Then I can't see any issues at all. It's a great idea especially at this time of year.

Thats a really poor and crappy diet.
Yabu.

Sounds great. It’s a birthday. They’re expected to eat shite for one day lol 😂

... what? It's one small meal out of 1095 they have in a year....They're not having a happy meal every day for the next 6 years... Confused

And besides if the parents object to McDonald's,they can take their kids home

Most of them probably eat crap everyday anyway.

What a ridiculous comment. Have you ever been to a children's birthday. Hmm

Soonenough · 26/11/2025 22:06

@girlfriend44 What would you suggest instead ?

Weaved lentils and kale crisps no doubt

It sounds a lovely party.
I did similar and gave them all a water bottle and some sweets/popcorn for the cinema then rhey kept the water bottle as a party gift. It was nice to see them pop up in school bags/sports months later still in use
I hope everyone has a great time

DanceMumTaxi · 26/11/2025 22:08

Sounds great. My kids have been to parties like this when younger and they loved it. Go for it.

OverNotOver · 26/11/2025 22:09

Sounds like a great idea!

Bournetilly · 26/11/2025 22:09

My 6 year old would absolutely love this! Much better than soft play parties.

chocopuffs · 26/11/2025 22:18

It sounds fine as a party but I’m a bit confused why the question in the first place - why would it be cheeky? Is the kids’ club not meant for this kind of thing?

Good thinking, I can get a big pack of waterproof stickers and they can decorate while waiting for food

Because it's not really a party? 😞

Just wondering if parents would think I'm tight or weird or whatever
