Do they want the job or not?

Another post on a local FB page asking if someone would like a specific job. Very clear and concise info about the role and who to email about the job..

So many people have commented on the post with things like:

I'm interested PM me.
My daughter would like to do this blah blah blah can you send me more info.
I have lots of experience please get in touch.

What is wrong with people? Why can they not read the post and follow the (simple) instructions. Frankly, they would all be going on my 'don't give them the job' list.

The person posting the job was very polite and responded to each one with - please email XYZ etc etc. I actually despair.

AIBU to think they are all failing the first part of the interview process?

Learned helplessness.

Who needs to read and comprehend when someone will just answer your question?

I've definitely noticed a massive uptick in it over the last few years, but not sure what is causing it.

I’m disappointed but not surprised when I see posts from mothers asking about part time jobs for their teenagers. Surely, if you’re old enough to work, you’re old enough to make the request yourself. I agree that it’s learned helplessness.

Learned helplessness is absolutely a problem - I find it so frustrating.

I helped my DCs when they were job hunting but from the sidelines - I would never have directly asked on their behalf. It teaches them no resilience or independence - another common problem!

Yep fools everywhere. I am fed up with so called job seekers who don't answer their phones.

Bah I can spend a good twenty minutes on Facebook being amused by things like this.

Any good for you hun?

My favourites, along with the ones you describe are people looking for driving instructors ‘to start immediately’ and twenty posters tag in the same instructor and he says ‘I’ve got a two year waiting list’ a hundred times.
