Irregular bleeding on Mirena.

Has anyone else had this. My 'periods' have been like clockwork for years. Even on every mirena I've had. I've had three. Cycle is usually 27/28 days with almost no variation. The last 5 months though my cycle has been;

  • 26 days
  • 23 days
  • 27 days
  • 31 days
  • 21 days

Feels very odd and I'm not sure what to make of it. I've had my current mirena for 2 years.

Thoughts?

How old are you, could peri be kicking in?

Pippa12 · 23/11/2025 08:45

I’ve had this over the past 12 months. Visited GP, had blood test and a scan, Gp said peri.

The same as what everyone else says - peri!

I'm 34 😬 I really hope it's not peri!

I've googled and seen that 35 is actually quite a normal age to start peri, and realised how uneducated I am about it!

I had this, had it put in at 32 . Defo not peri. Had all the tests and scans when I was still having regular bleeding . It was just one of those things… had it removed not replaced in the end. I got so fed up!

I had this for first one, took about a year to settle but then practically no break through bleeding at all so was worth it eventually…
