To be excited that I've booked a break over new year

It's only 4 nights in a fancy caravan with a hot tub on a quiet site in Cornwal but I can't wait to have a few night away to chill.
It was a great deal too at £375
I don't care if it rains as we will take games and jigsaws and plenty of food and drink!
Anyone else love a quiet few days after all the December chaos?

Sounds lovely

I wish we could do something like this but with three kids and paying out for Christmas there is no way

WhamBamThankU · 22/11/2025 20:03

Enjoy! We went to the coast over new year once and it was the best.

Have a lovely time, nice to have a trip to Look forward to!

I can hear the excitement in your voice! I hope you have a super break away. I think it's great to get away at that time. The Christmas stuff is more or less finished and all you're left with are leftovers and you get sick of looking at them! You'd never know, the weather could be very kind too, hopefully dry even if it's crisp and cold, doesn't matter, you won't be at home.

AhBiscuits · 22/11/2025 20:08

We're doing exactly the same thing 🙂

LlynTegid · 22/11/2025 20:16

Have a lovely time. Hope it is dry weather even if cold.

I like going away somewhere not too long after Christmas, or just not extending the time off too long so I can have some sort of winter break.

SabreIsMyFave · 22/11/2025 20:17

Oooooh, you've got ME excited now @FagotsAndPeas I might book something for me and DH for January now! Grin

NormasArse · 22/11/2025 20:26

I’ve booked a caravan too! DH is working, so my dad and I are going to the coastal village we lived in for 18 months when I was a child. I’m feeling quite emotional about it!
