Just for fun! I don’t think I’m harbouring a future Van Gogh just first child and not sure what to expect at ages! So what age would you say?

How old for child who drew this?

Is that a bee about to enter the cavernous mouth?

Closetangel · 22/11/2025 14:06

6

Never mind the age it’s terrifying! What is it?!

Is it a bird? No

Is it a plane? No

It's BUMHOLE MAN

CalishataFolkart · 22/11/2025 14:09

Given that your username has Mama and 2019 in it, I’ll guess 6

JaninaDuszejko · 22/11/2025 14:09

That's a cool drawing. Frame it and put it on the wall, don't put it on MN for people to guess your child's age.

Placestogo · 22/11/2025 14:10

About 5 years old

crappycrapcrap · 22/11/2025 14:14

5

Notprodigal · 22/11/2025 14:16

It’s hard to say as children focus on different stages of development at different ages. Children can seem precocious at 5 but then be caught by their peers with a couple of years.

A child who has an aptitude / talent for something at 11/12 years old is likely to retain that for life.

pavillion1 · 22/11/2025 14:17

5

phantomofthepopera · 22/11/2025 14:19

About 6

Verite1 · 22/11/2025 14:22

7-8 I would guess. Though I can't work out what it is meant to be.

Sillysoggyspaniel · 22/11/2025 14:22

Child who likes drawing and is good at it: 4 or 5
Child with no particular interest: 7

Christmascarrotjumper · 22/11/2025 14:23

Anywhere between 4 and 12. My 5yo could do better, my 9yo wouldn't bother to finish.
I'd guess around 6.

AhBiscuits · 22/11/2025 14:27

If like.me you are too impatient to wait around for the answer, an advanced search will tell.you 😄

NettleTea · 22/11/2025 14:39

my kids were drawing like that at about 4-5 years old.

Both at uni doing well in creative degrees, son got a distinction at Art foundation, A* at A levels and won the award for best in show last year at UAL run foundation year out of more than 100 students, judged by local prestigious art gallery. Daughter doing professional paid photography and design gigs before graduating.
Neither ever stopped drawing which, as others have said, really is the key.

JockTamsonsBairns · 22/11/2025 14:42

I'd guess around 5-7?

sanityisamyth · 22/11/2025 14:42

What is the point of these threads? Either OP is looking to be told their child is the next Van Gogh and to enrol them straight away at art college, or they’ll be horribly disappointed when everyone guesses older than the actual age and start thinking there’s undiagnosed SEN.

Ophy83 · 22/11/2025 14:44

4 or 5, but with a range from 3 if they are particularly observant going up to 7 if they are wholly uninterested in art.

Legolava · 22/11/2025 14:47
cuppacat · 22/11/2025 14:50

For me, it'd be the imagination of the drawing rather than the actual picture itself that would age it. Was it copied from another picture or was it something she just created? I taught a girl in YR, who had ASD who was drawing like this from her imagination at age 3, Mum showed me some of her pictures. But it could be a 6 year old. Very difficult to say without knowing the context.

Or maybe OP is genuinely just interested, what’s the problem?

I wouldn’t be horribly disappointed, these threads are always full of miserable arseholes who deliberately guess low to try and drag others down.

I mean, how dare anyone think their child is above average at something.

4 years old?

Not sure what it’s meant to be - I thought it might be the old lady who swallowed a fly but then I saw the bumps on the head which made me think some sort of demon??

FullOfMomsense · 22/11/2025 15:06

7, but wouldn't be surprised if between 5 and 10. It's good!

ilovepuppies2019 · 22/11/2025 15:07

Gosh posters have talented 3-4 year olds if they know a child who could draw this! It would be helpful to know if this was copied or drawn from imagination as it would make a difference.

if it’s drawn from imagination then this is way better than what I could have done at 7…or 35. The pen control is good so I would say the chops must be in school. Perhaps 6-7?
