Trump to get Nobel Peace Prize for ending Ukraine War?

Trump is desperate to end the war so that he can be awarded a Nobel Peace Prize. Am I being unreasonable in thinking that he is rushing this through without considering the long-term ramifications?

He's desperate for one. The only thing he's good at is knocking heads together, and other leaders only pay him attention because he's the most unhinged person in the room. He will end his days in prison, derided and ridiculed. And that is exactly what he deserves.

Isn't USA still spending a lot of money in indirect costs, intelligence sharing for instance? And ending the Ukraine-Russia war was a campaign promise. And it's a good distraction from all the places where his name appears in Epstein files or MTG bust up.

Anyway, T won't get PPrize. He has made lots of bad decisions so status continues as SNAFU. The proposed peace settlement won't happen. No news here.

If he does end it and it stays ended then maybe.

But it will take a decade or so before you can say it was effective, fair and over.

This. He doesn't care about anybody but himself. He's always been a Putin sympathiser and his behaviour towards Ukraine has been outrageous (like most of his behaviour I suppose).

I mean, FIFA has suspiciously invented the "FIFA Peace Prize" in the last couple of months, which will be announced on the 5th December, with odds on favourite being Trump to be the one to receive it, another piece of gold tat to add to his gold tat filled Oval Office.

I agree he is desperate for the NPP. He may or may not believe he is considering the ramifications, because he is Putin’s fanboy and sees things from Putin’s perspective.

I agree with you. And I supported Obama from beginning to end (having become a US citizen), though with varying levels of enthusiasm on certain issues.

But TBF Obama got the NPP on the basis of no real accomplishment whatsoever. Basically he represented hope. Not one of the better decisions the Nobel Committees have ever made. Ideally Obama would have rejected it on the grounds that it was not earned.

Of course a reasonable person would shrug this off as Obama’s good fortune, but that is far too much to ask if Trump.

By all means carry on bashing Trump. However, many people want that pointless war to end. As for the Nobel prize I think is a bit ridiculous you come with that as it is so unlikely to happen to a person like Trump.

The pointless war could be ended by Russia retreating.

I think the Nobel Prize Committee is unlikely to reward Trump for handing over Ukraine to Russia.

We just don't agree that forcing Ukraine to surrender to Russian aggression is an effective way of achieving lasting peace.

He should be pushing for Russia to withdraw, then compensate Ukraine. They had no right to invade in the first place 😡
